Öğe Anomalous resistive transitions in Y2Ba3Cu5Ox and its nearby compositions between 110-204 K(Kluwer Academic Publ, 2000) Adigüzel, HI; Ulug, B[Abstract Not Available]Öğe Degradation of superconducting properties in MgB2 by formation of the MgB4 phase(Springer/Plenum Publishers, 2002) Yakinci, ME; Balci, Y; Aksan, MA; Adigüzel, HI; Gencer, ASuperconducting MgB2 polycrystalline samples have been fabricated under two different conditions in order to determine the effect of MgB4 phase. A series of samples was placed in an alpha-alumina container closed with a cup and fired under high purity argon gas. The other series of samples was placed in an a-alumina boot without any lid and fired under similar conditions. For the first series of samples, we have found pure MgB2 phase formation and a narrow transition width at 0.4 K. For the second series of samples, significant amount of MgB4 phase were formed and the T-zero was decreased to 27 K. For both the group of samples magnetization hysteresis loops obtained at various temperature range and applied field up to 2 T. The best J(cmag) for the first series of samples was 1.9 x 10(5) x A/cm(2) at 10 K and 0 T, and for the second series of samples was 0.7 x 10(4) x A/cm(2) at 10 K and 0 T.Öğe Effect of hydrogen charging on the electrochemical and magnetic properties of Fe73.5M1Nb3Si13.5B9 (M = Cu, Pt, Pd, Ag, Mn) alloys(Wiley-V C H Verlag Gmbh, 2002) Kolat, VS; Turkdemir, H; Adigüzel, HI; Atalay, FE; Atalay, S; Sovak, PThe effects of hydrogen absorption on the electrochemical, magnetic and magnetoelastic properties of amorphous Fe73.5M1Nb3Si13.5B9 alloys (M = Cu, Pt, Ag, Pd, Mn) were investigated. Hydrogen was charged cathodically for 30 min with cathodic current density of 50 A/m(2) in all samples using 0.5 M H2SO4 solution with 0.1 g/l As2O3 as a poison. It was observed that the partial substitution of Pt. Mn, Ag, Pd for Cu in Fe73.5Cu1Nb3Si13.5B9 has a great influence in the hydrogen absorption properties.Öğe The influence of chromium content on the properties of Fe74-xCrxCu1Nb3Si13B9 alloys(Wiley-V C H Verlag Gmbh, 2002) Bayri, N; Adigüzel, HI; Atalay, S; Sovak, PIn this study, we have investigated the effect of Cr substitution on the structural, magnetic and magnetoelastic properties of Fe74-xCrxCu1Nb3Si13B9 (x = 2, 4, 8, 11, 14) alloys. The samples were annealed between 450 and 600 degreesC for 1 It under argon atmosphere to induce various nanocrystalline fractions. The change in microstructure upon annealing were examined by the X-ray spectrum data. A large influence of Cr content on the formation of alpha-FeSi phase was observed. The magnetic field dependence of the Young's modulus (DeltaE effect) was measured using the vibration reed method. The DeltaE results are interpreted partly in terms of the stress relief and the reduced magnetostriction in nanocrystalline samples.Öğe Infrared and structural properties of Y1-xNdxBa2Cu3O7-? (0?x?1)(Kluwer Academic/Plenum Publ, 2002) Adigüzel, HI; Izgi, TInfrared and structural properties of Y1-xNdxBa2Cu3O7-delta (0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 1) were investigated using infrared absorption spectroscopy and X-ray powder diffraction. The unit cell parameters of the samples were defined using X-ray diffraction data. The resistance measurements showed that the samples revealed superconductivity in the temperature range of 80-100 K. It was observed that by the substitution of Nd to Y in YBa2Cu3O7-delta IR band at 573 cm(-1) that is assigned as Cu-O axial antisymmetric stretching mode shifts to 533 cm-1 while the band at 620 cm-1 that is due to Cu-O symmetric stretching mode in YBa2Cu3O7-delta shifts to 588 cm(-1).
