Öğe Cone beam computed tomographic findings in unicystic ameloblastoma of the mandible.(2018) Ram G, Sachin; Ajila, Vidya; Hegde, Shruthi; Babu, Subhas G; Shanthi Kamath, Jasmine; S Pillai, DevikaÖğe Cone beam computed tomography findings of a large Adenomatoid Odontogenic Tumour in the anterior mandible- A case report(2017) Nair, Mithula; Ajila, Vidya; Hegde, Shruthi; Babu G, Subhas; Ghosh, RumelaAdenomatoid Odontogenic Tumour (AOT) accounts for 0.1% of all jaw tumours. It commonly occurs in anterior maxilla associated with an impacted tooth. The present case report describes the clinical and radiographic findings of Adenomatoid Odontogenic Tumour occurring in an unusual location. The large size of tumour in short duration, location in the anterior mandible, radiographic absence of calcifications as well as presence of root resorption makes this report distinctive. In addition, the cone beam computed tomography findings of AOT are discussed in detail.Öğe Goldenhar syndrome-a case report(2017) Buch, Sajad Ahmad; Babu, Subhas G; Hegde, Shruthi; Ajila, Vidya; Rao, ShruthiGoldenhar syndrome is a rare developmental disorder affecting first and second branchial arches with its manifestations in multiple systems of the body. The aetiology of the syndrome is not clear however many theories have been proposed and described. It is characterised by presence of epibulbar dermoids, fistulas and preauricular appendages. In addition to facial defects the syndrome also manifests abnormalities in renal, genitourinary, cardiac and skeletal systems. Asymmetry in Goldenhar syndrome is usually obvious at the time of birth and increases with age, particularly at puberty. The ear defects can be both unilateral and bilateral but involvement of right ear is more common. To confirm diagnosis, it is imperative to have at least microtia and preauricular or auricular defects. The prognosis of the condition is good in patients who have no complicated systemic associations. A multidisciplinary team of doctors is required for successful treatment of the syndrome. We present here a case of Goldenhar syndrome in an 8-year-old girl with classic manifestations.Öğe Pemphigus vulgaris presenting as bleeding gums: A case report(2017) Rao, Shruthi; Hegde, Shruthi; Ajila, Vidya; Babu, Subhas G; Buch, Sajad AhmadPemphigus vulgaris (PV) is a chronic autoimmune disease which may be potentially life threatening. PV manifests as blisters and erosions of the skin and the mucous membrane. It can manifest initially as oral lesions. It is essential to diagnose this condition early in order to avoid the serious complications. We describe a case of 58-year-old male presented with bleeding gums and burning sensation for 6 months. Patient was previously misdiagnosed as gingivitis. Though it is rare for pemphigus vulgaris to present with gingival involvement as primary site of manifestation, our case emphasizes the importance of thorough history and clinical examination for the early diagnosis and management of such condition.Öğe Use of cone beam computed tomography in the diagnosis and treatment planning of follicular ameloblastoma: A case report with review of literature(2017) Madiyal, Ananya; Babu, Subhas G; Castelino, Renita Lorina; Ajila, Vidya; Bhat, Supriya; Achalli, Sonika; Madi, Medhini; Rao, KumudaAmeloblastoma is a benign but locally invasive odontogenic tumor. It is found most often in the posterior mandible and occurs as a slow growing painless mass. Diagnosis is made based on the clinical, radiographic and histopathologic features. Newer imaging modalities such as cone beam computed tomography offer massive advantage over traditional radiography thereby helping in better diagnosis and treatment planning. The goal of treatment is complete elimination of the tumor with reconstruction of the defect. This can be achieved with precise radiographic images concerning the size and extension of the lesion as is obtained by cone beam computed tomography. We present here a case of follicular ameloblastoma with a detailed description of its various radiographic features thereby improving the body of knowledge regarding the use of this new development in the field of imaging.
