Öğe 40Ar/39Ar age and geochemistry of the post-collisional Miocene Yamadag volcanics in the Arapkir area (Malatya Province), eastern Anatolia, Turkey(Pergamon-Elsevier Science Ltd, 2008) Kurum, Sevcan; Onal, Ayten; Boztug, Durmus; Spell, Terry; Arslan, MehmetThe Neogene Yamadag volcanics occupy a vast area between Sivas and Malatya in eastern Anatolia, Turkey. These volcanic rocks are characterized by pyroclastics comprising agglomerates, tuffs and some small outcrops of basaltic-andesitic-dacitic rocks, overlain upward by basaltic and dacitic rocks, and finally by basaltic lava flows in the Arapkir area, northern Malatya Province. The basaltic lava flows in the Arapkir area yield a 40Ar/39Ar age of 15.8 +/- 0.2 Ma, whereas the dacitic lava flows give 40Ar/39Ar ages ranging from 17.6 through 14.7 +/- 0.1 to 12.2 +/- 0.2 Ma, corresponding to the Middle Miocene. These volcanic rocks have subalkaline basaltic, basaltic andesitic; alkaline basaltic trachyandesitic and dacitic chemical compositions. Some special textures, such as spongy-cellular, sieve and embayed textures; oscillatory zoning and glass inclusions in plagioclase phenocrysts; ghost amphiboles and fresh biotite flakes are attributable to disequilibrium crystallization related to magma mixing between coeval magmas. The main solidification processes consist of fractional crystallization and magma mixing which were operative during the soldification of these volcanic rocks. The dacitic rocks are enriched in LILE, LREE and Th, U type HFSE relative to the basaltic rocks. The basaltic rocks also show some marked differences in terms of trace-element and REE geochemistry; namely, the alkaline basaltic trachyandesites have pronounced higher HFSE, MREE and HREE contents relative to the subalkaline basalts. Trace and REE geochemical data reveal the existence of three distinct magma sources - one subalkaline basaltic trachyandesitic, one alkaline basaltic and one dacitic - in the genesis of the Yamadag volcanics in the Arapkir region. The subalkaline basaltic and alkaline basaltic trachyandesitic magmas were derived from an E-MORB type enriched mantle source with a relatively high- and low-degree partial melting, respectively. The magmatic melt of dacitic rocks seem to be derived from an OIB-type enriched lithospheric mantle with a low proportion of partial melting. The enriched lithospheric mantle source reflect the metasomatism induced by earlier subduction-derived fluids. All these coeval magmas were generated in a post-collisional extensional geodynamic setting in Eastern Anatolia, Turkey. (c) 2007 Elsevier Ltd. Allelopathy refers to the direct or indirect chemical effects of one plant on the germination, growth or development of neighboring plants. The allelopathic effects of extracts of mint (Mentha piperita L.), thyme (Thymus vulgaris L.), rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis L.), coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) and sage (Salvia officinalis L.) on seed germination and some growth characteristics of common lambsquarters (Chenopodium album L.) were investigated. Aqueous extracts of aromatic plants at 0,1, 2.5, 5, 10 and 20 % concentrations were applied to determine their inhibition effects on seed germination; seedling shoot and root length of C. album seed under laboratory conditions. The extracts of tested plant species caused inhibitory effects on seed germination and seedling length of C. album. Allolapaticity increased progressively with the increasing extract concentration. The results showed that total germination inhibition of C. album depended on the extract concentration; ranged from %13 to 100. The maximum inhibition (100%) rate for germination was obtained from the highest extract concentration for all test species. Hasta operasyon öncesi hazırlık safhasında antikoagülan tedaviyle embolik komplikasyon olmadan tedavi olmuştur.Öğe Chemical Composition and Herbicidal Activities of Essential Oil from Aerial Parts of Origanum Hybrids Grown in Different Global Climate Scenarios on Seed Germination of Amaranthus palmeri(Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2021) Yasar, Ayse; Karaman, Yucel; Gokbulut, Incilay; Tursun, Ayse Ozlem; Tursun, Nihat; Uremis, Ilhan; Arslan, MehmetThe present study aimed to investigate the changes in the essential oil contents of some Origanum hybrids grown at different carbon dioxide (400 and 800 ppm) levels in a fully automated carbon dioxide greenhouse. The chemical composition of essential oils was analyzed gas chromatography/ mass spectrometry (GC/MS). It was found that, among the Origanum hybrids, there were differences between the essential oil contents of those grown under natural conditions and controlled greenhouse conditions. While an increase in carbon dioxide level significantly increased the thymol and carvacrol components, which are among important monoterpene components, of Origanum syriacum x O. onites and O. syriacum x O. vulgare hybrids, whereas it led to a decrease in O. syriacum x O. majorona hybrid. To determine the effects on germination of Amaranthus palmeri S. Watson seeds under laboratory conditions, the essential oils were used at 0.5, 1, 2, and 4 mu l/petri doses. The most effective doses of essential oils for preventing the germination of A. palmeri seed were found to be 2 and 4 mu l/petri. In preventing the germination of seeds, the most effective (100 %) application for all the essential oils was achieved with O. syriacum x O. onites hybrid grown at 800 ppm. These results show that the CO2 increases that may occur as a result of climate change in the next years may lead to changes in the content of essential oils in Origanum hybrids and may have the potential to be used as bio-herbicidal to prevent the germination of A palmeri.Öğe Grundfragen der Strafrechtlichen Produkthaftung (İnsbesondere Kausalitat und Garantenstellung(2010) Yucel, A, Seda; Arslan, MehmetÖğe Grundfragen der strafrechtlichen Produkthaftung(insbesondere Kausalität und Garantenstellung)(İnönü Üniversitesi Hukuk Fakültesi Dergisi, 2010) Arslan, MehmetDie Herstellung und der Vertrieb gesundheitsgefährdender bzw. -beeinträchtigender Produkte lösen neben den zivilrechtlichen Kosuquenzen auch eine strafrechtliche Verantwortung des Produzenten aus, wenn strafrechtlich geschützte Rechtgüter, etwa Leib und Leben, durch die Verwendung solcher Produkte verletzt werden. Strafgerichte beschäftigten sich in den letzen Jahren immer mehr mit strafrechtlichen Produkthaftungsfällen3 . Aufgrund der Tatsache, dass fehlerhafte Produkte meist von einer unbekannten Anzahl von Menschen verwendet werden, haben die Fälle, die die strafrechtliche Produkthaftung zum Gegenstand haben, auch eine gesellschaftliche Dimension. Dies zieht ein enormes Interesse der Massenmedien nach sich. Von einem Strafgericht wird in diesen Fällen erwartet, dass es durch sein Urteil die gegen die Massenprodukte „hilflosen“ Verbraucher quasi mit einem Schutzschirm schützt. Data elicited from the survey is analyzed with the help of SPSS program.Öğe Petrology and $^{40}Ar-^{39}Ar$ age of the bimodal orduzu volcanics (Malatya) from the western end of the eastern Anatolian Neogene volcanism, Turkey(2008) Önal, Ayten; Boztuğ, Durmuş; Arslan, Mehmet; Spell, Terry L.; Kürüm, SevcanAbstract: Doğu Anadolu’da yaygın olarak yüzeylenen Neojen magmatizmasının bir ürünü olan Yamadağ volkanitlerine ait Orduzu volkanitleri (Malatya), riyolit, riyolitik dayk, trakiandezit ve bazaltik trakiandezit dayklarından oluşmaktadır. Bazaltik trakiandezitik dayklardaki mafik globüller, trakiandezitiklerdeki bazaltik trakiandezit anklavları, bazı mikroskopik dokusal özellikler ve jeokimyasal bulgular magma karışmasının verileri olarak değerlendirilmiştir. Orduzu volkaniti kayaçlarında aşamalı gazsızlaştırma tekniğiyle yürütülen 40Ar?39Ar radyometrik yaş tayini çalışmalarında, riyolitlerde, riyolitik dayklarda ve bazaltik trakiandezitik dayklarda Orta Miyosene karşılık gelen yaşlar (16 My) elde edilmiştir. Primordial manto’ya göre normalleştirilmiş örümcek diyagramları, riyolit ve riyolitik daykların, andezit ve bazaltik trakiandezitik dayklara göre bazı büyük iyon çaplı elementler (Cs, Rb, Ba, K, Th, U) bakımından zenginleşme; ancak Sr, Nb, Ti bakımından kuvvetli ve bazı kalıcılığı yüksek elementler (Hf, Zr) bakımından ise hafifçe fakirleşmeye uğradıklarını göstermektedir. Chondrit’e göre normalleştirilmiş nadir toprak elementleri örümcek diyagramları ise riyolit ve riyolitik dayklar için bağıl olarak nisbeten daha yüksek bir (La/Lu)CN (18–47) ve Eu/Eu* (0.57–0.92) oranları; trakiandezitler ve bazaltik trakiandezitik dayklar için ise daha düşük bir (La/Lu)CN (7–13) ve Eu/Eu* (0.86–1.05) oranları gösterirler. Jeokronolojik, arazi, petrografik ve jeokimyasal veriler, Orduzu volkanitlerinin oluşumunda, konumsal ve zamansal olarak üç farklı magmanın etkin olduğunu göstermektedir. Bunlar, (1) kabuksal kökenli, kalk-alkalen riyolitik magma; (2) litosferik manto kökenli, kalkalkalen magma; (3) litosferik manto kökenli orta derece alkalen magma kaynağıdır. Mafic globular occurrences within the basaltic trachyandesitic dykes, the existence of basaltic trachyandesite enclaves within the trachyandesite, and other textural and geochemical evidence all indicate magma mingling/mixing. Incremental 40Ar-39Ar dating on plagioclase from the rhyolite, from rhyolite dykes and basaltic trachyandesite yielded consistently 16 Ma (Middle Miocene). Primordial mantle-normalized spider diagrams of the rhyolite and rhyolitic dykes represent enrichments in some large ion lithophile elements (Cs, Rb, Ba, K, Th, U) but remarkably depletion in Sr, Nb, Ti, Eu and slight depletion in some high field strength elements (Hf, Zr) relative to the trachyandesites and basaltic trachyanclesitic dykes. Chondrite-normalized rare earth element spidergrams yield a high (La/Lu)(CN) (18-47) and Eu/Eu* (0.57-0.92) ratios for the rhyolites and rhyloitic dykes, but a low (La/Lu)(CN) (7-13) and Eu/Eu* (0.86-1.05) values for the trachyandesites and basaltic trachyandesitic dykes.
