The study is to determine how historical urban structure reflecting socio-cultural characteristics of a society can be transformed into modern life by making it a livable attraction centre. In the study, the daily and regular users of the Beskonak Street of the Malatya City were surveyed through the use of a face to face questionnaire technique. It has been circulated through 124 volunteer daily users and 85 volunteer regular users in May and June 2011 to learn residential awareness on the cities' identities and historical values, and to learn their recommendation to improve cities' identities and qualities. The aim of the study develops a guiding approach and method to be used for creating areas which satisfy users by considering the evaluations of both experts and users in conservation, planning and design of historical structures. In this perspective, landscape perception has been evaluated in only visual and physical extents in the study.
