Treatment and prophylaxis strategies for deep vein thrombosis during COVID-19 outbreak

Öz: Since the first case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was reported at the end of 2019, this outbreak has spread to more than amillion people around the world and become a pandemic. The group most affected by the outbreak with the highest mortality rate is elderlypeople with known vascular diseases or a high risk of developing vascular pathologies. It is evident that in this group of patients, there isa high risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) occurrence. In this current extraordinary era, management will be more challenging. In thisarticle, we aimed to prepare a recommendation guide including the thromboprophylaxis and management of patients diagnosed with DVTduring the COVID-19 outbreak.
