Global financial crisis effected tourism sector such as all sectors in the economy. Especially in the USA and European Union, the negative effects of living depression on personal incomes resulting from the growth slumps in the worlwide; gave rise to decreasing foreign demand in tourism sector, slumps in the international tourism movements were seen and to increase competitiveness of tourism sector became necessary for countries. To overcome the negative effects of crisis on tourism sector in Turkey; especially, increasing of exchange rates were enabled price lowering in packed tours and to think cheap mass tourism was solution for the families whose personal incomes decreasing because of the crisis, came into the scene. The aim of this study is to analyze the effects of global financial crisis on Turkey tourism sector competitiveness and presents resolution advisories for reducing the negative effects of crisis on tourism sector.
