Öğe In the Light of the Estate Records Diyarbekir Voyvodas Heritages from Ottoman Provincial Administrators in XVIIth and XVIIIth Centuries(Turk Tarih Kurumu, 2016) Basarir, OzlemEstate and heritage records is a group of sources that assures to make significant determinations regarding to Ottoman social and economic life. The heritage registrations that are going to be examined belongs to a group called voivodes those become prominent in the society with the opportunities they obtained under existing conditions of the period especially the tax gathering right. Diyarbekir voivodeship muqataa is described as an administrative headquarters and also it is the place for gathering iltizam and malikane revenues. At this study, heritage registrations of Kurd Mehmed Aga (1672/73), Uzun Ali Aga (1694/95), Halil Aga (1729/30), Sem'an-zade Ahmed Aga (1765/66), Seyh-zade Ismail Aga (1785/86) who are the mediator or substitute administrator and investigators of the Diyarbekir voivodeship muqataa is going to be under debate. It will be possible to track not only how these attendants distinguishes from the society with their tax gathering right and kapucubasi title they possessed but also which perspective did they evaluate these kind of privileges. This study aims to contribute new positioning attendants' identities which are positioned by new expansions of existing monetary and governmental constitution at XVIIth and XVIIIth centuries.Öğe Manufacturing, Production and Trading in Ottoman Provinces in the 18th Century Related to Muqataas - in the case of Diyarbekir Province(Ege Univ, 2014) Basarir, OzlemThe income units called as muqataa and had rich varieties started to become popular in Ottoman provinces in the XVIIIth century. In this era, iltizam was the common system for collecting tax incomes and besides as a new system, the government put malikne into practice. These muqataas were working productively by incorporating low income groups. In this way, especially agricultural production and important sections of manufacturing and trading industry in provinces were become subjects for muqataas. This study was born from curiosity of methods which were used for specifying and managing low level income groups which create muqataas and it also focuses on a part of manufacturing and trading lives of local provinces. The location of the study constitutes Diyarbekir province.Öğe Some Thoughts on the Estate of Mustafa Aga, the Voivode of Diyarbekir(Ahmet Yesevi Univ, 2013) Basarir, OzlemAt the end of the 16th century and throughout the 17th, the Ottoman State was anxious to solve its money shortage problem. As a result, in the 18th century, certain existing systems assumed new functions on the one hand, while on the other, new systems emerged. As the land tenure system became more widespread, the Diyarbekir Voivodeship emerged under the administration of Mustafa Aga. The estate of Mustafa Aga is significant in that it includes personal data as well as information about the financial policies of the time. This study aims to explain the voivodeship system and the functions of the voivode as an administrator of the provinces. The study basically focuses on the acquisitions recorded in the estate. As a part of this general framework, the study also comments on Mustafa Aga's considerable assets (made up of 78% cash, 11% claims, 9% belongings and animals, and 2% real estate) worth 263.092,5 kurus, his two-storey house with 17 living areas, the tools and objects in this house and other assets.
