Öğe Electrical and optical properties of ZnO-Fe2O3-SiO2 composite prepared by SOL-GEL method(Amer Inst Physics, 2007) Canbay, C. Aksu; Altin, S.; Aydogdu, A.; Aydogdu, Y.; Yakinci, E.The semiconductor composite was prepared from ZnO, Fe2O3 and SiO2 transition metal oxides by sol-gel method. The surface morphology of the prepared samples were investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The activation energies of the samples in the extrinsic and intrinsic regions were found as 0.75 eV and 0.77 eV for ZFS-1 and 0.22 eV and 0.32eV for ZFS-2. The value of the optical band gap of the composite samples were calculated from the absorption coefficient depending on photon energy. The optical band gap of the samples were found as 1.60 eV and 1.70 eV for ZFS-1 and ZFS-2, respectively.Öğe New Cu-Al Based Quaternary and Quinary High Temperature Shape Memory Alloy Composition Systems(Amer Inst Physics, 2018) Karaduman, O.; Ozkul, I.; Altin, S.; Altin, E.; Baglayan, O.; Canbay, C. AksuThe Cu-rich HTSMAs (high temperature shape memory alloys) with new compositions of a quaternary Cu24.07Al- 1.85Ti-1.40Co (at%) and a quinary Cu-24.08Al-2.23Fe-1.34Co-0.97Ti (at%) were fabricated by arc melting and analysed by differential thermal analysis (DTA), X-ray and optical microscopy measurements to find out the thermal and structural properties of the alloys. During thermal measurements, the alloy samples exhibited very well characteristic hysteresis curves of martensitic transformations at high temperatures far above 200 degrees C and their characteristic martensite and austenite phase transition temperatures and kinetic parameters such as enthalpy, entropy and equilibrium temperatures were calculated. The structural X-ray diffraction lattice planes and metallographic semblances on the surface morphology of the crystal natured alloy samples were determined and these results indicated the martensite forms at room temperature. In conclusion, deploying of these new composed alloys in miscellaneous HTSMA applications may be viable.Öğe Physico-mechanical and thermal characteristics of commercially available and newly developed dental flowable composites(Elsevier Science Bv, 2018) Kamalak, Hakan; Canbay, C. Aksu; Yigit, Oktay; Altin, SerdarIn this study, we investigated the structural stability, thermal conductivity, thermal analysis, materials' homogeneity of newly developed flowable composites. 6 different dental flowable composite resins; Grandio Flow (GF), Charisma Flow (CF), Tetric N Flow (TNF), Clearfil Majesty Flow (CMF),3M Filtek Ultimate Flow (3MFU), Voco Amaris Flow (VFA) were used. Restorations were made in standard teflon molds and the materials were light-cured for 20s in a 6 mm x 2 mm teflon mould. After polymerization, samples were kept in distilled water at 37 degrees C/24 h it was found that the composites have multiphase component such as metallic dopant and organic binder. The XRD investigation showed that there was a broad halo in the pattern which indicates the organic section in the composites. The FTIR results indicate the bond structure of the composites. The temperature dependence of the thermal conductivity of the composites were found below to 5 mW/K value depending on the type of the composites, which are low enough for dental application. The micro-hardness of the samples was analyzed and the result was compared. (C) 2017 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
