    Airway management in an osteogenesis imperfecta case in the lateral decubitus position

    Abstract Osteogenesis imperfecta that is a connective tissue disorder is a rare autosomal disease. Osteogenesis imperfecta in the presence spinal deformity, respiratory disorders, cardiac anomalies and bone deformities may create several problems in the management of anesthesia. The risks of teeth, mandible and cervical trauma and difficulty making positions due to bone deformity challenge difficult airway management. We aim to provide airway management with ProSeal Laryngeal Mask Airway in left lateral decubitus position in a child patient who has severe thoracic spine deformity and can not be given supine position.     Lepralı Hastada Rejyonal Anestezi Yönetimi: Nadir Olgu Nadir Uygulama

    Öz: Lepra; mikobakterium lepranın neden olduğu, deri ve siniri etki- leyen kronik bir enfeksiyon hastalığıdır. Periferik nöropati ve diğer organ tutulumlarının görüldüğü leprada hastalar; kalp ve solunum sisteminde disotonomi ve otonomik tutuluma sahip olabilirler. Lepralı hastanın anestezi yönetimi ile ilgili referanslar literatürde oldukça azdır. Lepramatöz lepralı hastalara rejyonal anestezi uygu- lamaları çok nadir olarak bildirilmiştir. Bu sunuda; uzun süredir lepra tanısıyla takip edilen ve femur boyun kırığı nedeniyle ameli- yatı planlanan olguya kombine spinal epidural anestezi ile yapılan rejyonal anestezi yönetimini sunmayı amaçladık. Başlık (İngilizce): Regional Anaesthesia Management in a Patient with Leprosy: Rare Case with Rare Application Öz (İngilizce): Leprosy is a chronic infectious disease that is caused by Mycobac- terium leprae and affects the skin and nerves. Patients with leprosy having related peripheral neuropathy and involvement of other organs may have cardiac, respiratory dysautonomia and autonom- ic dysfunctions. There are very few studies regarding anaesthetic management of patients suffering from leprosy. Moreover, very few studies concerning regional anaesthesia in patients with lepro- matous leprosy have been reported. In this study, we aim to assess regional anaesthesia management with combined spinal epidural anaesthesia in a patient who had been followed up with a diag- nosis of leprosy for a long time and was scheduled for operation because of a femoral neck fracture.
