The entire population is now under the risk. Healthcare providers areconcerned about handling an increased number of COVID-19 patients in limited capacities of facilities. Some therapies are being postponedindefinitely. Patients with vascular diseases usually have multiple comorbidities and, therefore, many of them are prone to infection.However, vascular surgical pathologies are usually related to progressive diseases. Postponement may not be possible for every patient inthis group of patients. Thus, prioritization is crucial and a specialized algorithm is needed. In this review, we provide a succinct overview ofarterial and venous emergencies and present a classification system and treatment algorithm on an individual basis.Öğe Treatment and prophylaxis strategies for deep vein thrombosis during COVID-19 outbreak(2020) ERDİL, Nevzat; BAYRAK, Serdar; ERER, Dilek; BOZKURT, Kürşad; ALİYEV, Anar; ÇALKAVUR, Tanzer; AKAY, Hakkı Tankut; BEYAZPINAR, Deniz Sarp; GÜNERTEM, ErenÖz: Since the first case of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was reported at the end of 2019, this outbreak has spread to more than amillion people around the world and become a pandemic. The group most affected by the outbreak with the highest mortality rate is elderlypeople with known vascular diseases or a high risk of developing vascular pathologies. It is evident that in this group of patients, there isa high risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) occurrence. In this current extraordinary era, management will be more challenging. In thisarticle, we aimed to prepare a recommendation guide including the thromboprophylaxis and management of patients diagnosed with DVTduring the COVID-19 outbreak.
