Öğe The effects of reactive black 5 textile dye on peroxidase activity, lipid peroxidation and total chlorophyll content of phaseolus vulgaris L. CV. "Gina"(2012) Kaya A.; Yigit E.; Akbulut G.B.This study examined the effects of reactive black 5 (RB5) on peroxidase, lipid peroxidation and total chlorophyll content of Phaseolus vulgaris L. cv. "Gina". The beans were exposed to 200, 260, 338, 439, 571, 743, 965 and 1255 mg/L of RB5. Significant increase in peroxidase activity was identified in RB5-treated plants. The effects of RB5 on lipid peroxidation were analyzed. MDA content of RB5-treated plants was found to be higher in all application groups, except that of 439 mg/L. In addition, it was found that total chlorophyll content increased in all applications when compared to control group. Our findings indicate that RB5 causes significant changes in peroxidase activity, MDA content, and pigment system.Öğe The effects of reactive phthalocyanine blue textile dye on peroxidase activity, lipid peroxidation and total chlorophyll content of Phaseolus vulgaris L. "GINA"(Parlar Scientific Publications, 2014) Kaya A.; Yigit E.; Akbulut G.B.; Ates B.In this study, the effects of Reactive Phthalocyanine Blue (RPB) changes on peroxidase, malondialdehyde (MDA) content and total chlorophyll content of Phaseolus vulgaris L. (bean) were examined. The beans were exposed to different concentrations of RPB between 200-1255 mg/L. In the analyzed plants, different effects were observed on peroxidase activity. When compared to the control group, a significant decrease was identified in the plants which were treated with RPB except for the 1255 mg/L application group. Besides the effects of RPB on MDA content were analyzed. MDA content was found to be lower in all application groups except for 439 mg/L. In addition, total chlorophyll content increased in all application groups except for 338 mg/L when compared to the control group. These findings indicated that RPB caused significant changes in peroxidase activity, MDA content and total chlorophyll. It was shown that the textile dye had a toxic effect on the plants. © by PSP.Öğe Interactions among glutathione s-transferase, glutathione reductase activity and glutathione contents in leaves of Vicia faba L. subjected to flurochloridone(2012) Kaya A.; Yigit E.In this study, Vicia sativa L. "Selcuk-99" plant was treated with post-emergence flurochloridone in a concentration range of 11-72 mM. The effects of post-emergence flurochloridone treatments upon glutathione levels, glutathione s-transferase and glutathione reductase activities were investigated on the 1st, 5th, 10th, and 15th day after treatment. In the treatment groups, glutathione content, glutathione s-transferase and glutathione reductase activities increased only on the 15 th day. © PSP 2012.Öğe A performance analysis on pressure loss and airflow diffusion in a chamber with perforated V-profile diffuser designed for air handling units (AHUs)(Isfahan University of Technology, 2018) Kamer M.S.; Erdogan A.; Tacgun E.; Sonmez K.; Kaya A.; Aksoy I.G.; Canbazoglu S.Outlet cross-sectional area of fans used in air handling units is smaller than cross-sectional area of chambers which are located next to the fan. In order to ensure efficiently operating of the air handling units, it is required that the air flows through a perforated diffuser to create a uniform air diffusion from fan outlet to following chamber with a minimum pressure loss and uniform velocity distribution. In this concept, numerical simulations and experiments were performed for the chamber with perforated V-profile diffuser, which is often used in air handling units because of its simple geometry and easy manufacturing. Pressure losses were firstly obtained experimentally for different air velocities in the chamber. Then a performance analysis on the air flow diffusion and pressure losses inside chamber with perforated V-profile diffuser for different geometric parameters such as entry length, apex angle, geometry and pattern of hole, plate thickness, porosity and surface roughness has been carried out numerically. It is seen that the experimental results validated with the numerical turbulence model results. © 2018, Isfahan University of Technology.Öğe Pralatrexate experience in peripheral T-cell lymphoma: A multicenter retrospective study from Turkey(Zerbinis Publications, 2021) Dal M.S.; Merdin A.; Erkurt M.A.; Ekinci Ö.; Albayrak M.; Hacıoglu S.K.; Kaya A.Purpose: Pralatrexate is a new generation antifolate treatment agent used for the treatment of relapsed or refractory peripheral T-cell lymphomas. This study aims to determine the general characteristics of the patients receiving pralatrexate therapy in Turkey, contributing to the literature on the effectiveness of pralatrexate therapy in peripheral T-cell lymphomas by determining the response levels of such patients to the therapy. The study also attempts to clinically examine the major side effects observed in patients during treatment with pralatrexate. Methods: The study included patients with peripheral T-cell lymphoma followed up in the hematology units of several hospitals in Turkey. Overall, 20 patients aged 18 and over were included in the study. Results: The median age at the time of diagnosis was 58.5 years. PTCL-NOS (Peripheral T-cell lymphoma, not otherwise specified) subtype was in 40% of patients, making the PTCL-NOS the most common subtype in the study. In general, most patients were diagnosed with disease at an advanced stage. Pralatrexate therapy was given to the patients at a median treatment line of 3.5. Pralatrexate dose reduction was required in only 3 patients (15%). Response to pralatrexate therapy with partial remission (PR) and above was observed in 11 (55%) of the patients. Conclusion: Pralatrexate seemed to be a promising novel treatment in relapsed refractory PTCL patients. However, patients receiving pralatrexate should be followed up carefully for skin reactions, mucosal side effects, thrombocytopenia and neutropenia. © 2021 Zerbinis Publications.
