Use of wooden materials in the landscape applications in turkey

Wood, having better values than the alternative materials due to its physical, mechanical and technological properties, is an important structural material for landscape. It is preferred more than other materials because of its variations in color, texture and form, easy processing ability, capability of being harmonious with the other materials, nature-friendliness, cost-effectiveness, and ability for recycling. Hence, it is contemporarily used as a main or an auxiliary structural material for landscape construction elements. The main purpose of the work is to reveal the current situation of the use of wood materials in the landscape sector in Turkey. The results show that wood is not well known in the landscape applications and is therefore not used. As a result, proposals have been developed to make the selection of wood materials based on information and to increase the use of wood materials.
