Öğe Two cases of acrokeratoelastoidosis: Failure of acitretin treatment(1996) Dogan G.; Oram Y.; Hazneci E.; Muezzinoglu B.; Aydin A.Acrokeratoelastoidosis (AKE) is a rare distinguished clinical entity among other papular acrokeratodermas. It is characterized by smooth shiny papules on the hands and feet. We present two unrelated cases of AKE with typical clinical and histologic findings. The clinical diagnosis was confirmed with histopathologic findings, particularly, fragmentation and rarefaction of elastic fibers in the dermis. In the treatment of AKE, 3 months of acitretin administration (0.5 mg/kg/d) was found ineffective. Its treatment is still unsatisfactory and needs further therapeutic trials.
