Öğe Examination of the skin perforators of the posterior tibial artery on the leg and the ankle region and their clinical use(Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, 2006) Ozdemir, R; Kocer, U; Sahin, B; Oruc, M; Kilinc, H; Tekdemir, IBackground: There are many treatment alternatives for reconstruction of leg and foot defects. One of these treatment alternatives includes local flaps. A detailed understanding of the blood flow of the leg region is essential for producing new alternatives for the reconstruction of defects of this region. Methods: The leg and foot region blood flow was examined oil 11 fresh cadavers, and perforators of this region were examined in three zones. Perforator numbers and their diameters were defined at this region. It was determined in cadaver studies that especially zones I and II were more suitable for the planned flaps based oil perforators of the posterior tibial artery. In a clinical study that accompanies this anatomical study, eight patients underwent reconstruction by flaps based on the perforators of the posterior tibial artery. Results: Patients were followed for 3 to 14 months. In three patients, venous drainage problems had developed, and in one of them, partial flap loss had developed. This partially necrosed region was left to heal by secondary intention. Venous drainage problems resolved in 5 to 7 days in the two remaining patients. No other complications were seen. Conclusion: Regarding the results of the clinical study, the authors observed that this flap call provide the desired soft-tissue support for defects that expose the bones, tell dons, and neural and vascular bull dies.Öğe Non-existence of warped product semi-slant submanifolds of Kaehler manifolds(Springer, 2006) Sahin, BIn this paper, we show that there are no warped product semi-slant submanifolds of Kaehler manifolds. Contrary to this result,we provide an elementary example of a CR-warped product submanifold of a Kaehler manifold.Öğe Performance and flow-induced vibration characteristics for conical-ring turbulators(Elsevier Sci Ltd, 2004) Yakut, K; Sahin, B; Canbazoglu, SIn the present study, the performance characteristics of the conical-ring turbulators are determined by means of the entropy-generation minimization method based on the second law and enhancement efficiency based on the first law of thermodynamics. The relations between these performance and flow-induced vibration characteristics have been examined. The maximum entropy generation, at the same Reynolds number, occurs in sequence by the conical rings with 10, 20 and 30 mm pitches, respectively. The conical rings are thermodynamically advantageous (N-s,N-a < 1) UP to 8000 Reynolds number with respect to entropy generation. The enhancement efficiency increases as the pitch decreases and varies between 0.86 and 1.16. The turbulators with 20 and 30 mm pitch, especially, produce vortices having low amplitudes up to a Reynolds number of 12,000. (C) 2003 Elsevier Ltd. Necessary and sufficient conditions have been also given for QR-lightlike submanifold to be a mixed totally geodesic and, D-totally geodesic after investigating the integrability of distributions defined on QR-lightlike submanifolds. Further, totally umbilical QR-lightlike submanifolds are studied and some theorems are given.Öğe QR-submanifolds of a locally conformal quaternion Kaehler manifold(Kossuth Lajos Tudomanyegyetem, 2003) Sahin, B; Günes, RIn this paper, we study QR-submanifolds of a locally conformal quaternion Kaehler manifold. We give the basic formulas for QR-submanifolds of a locally conformal quaternion Kaehler manifold and two examples of QR-submanifolds of a locally conformal quaternion Kaehler manifold. Necessary and sufficient conditions are given for a quaternion distribution on a QR-submanifold to be integrable. Also, a necessary and sufficient condition is given for a distribution D-perpendicular to on a QR-submanifold to be a totally geodesic foliation. Further, a theorem is obtained for a QR-submanifold to be mixed geodesic. Finally, totally umbilical QR-submanifolds are studied and some theorems are given.Öğe Screen Cauchy Riemann lightlike submanifolds(Springer, 2005) Duggal, KL; Sahin, BWe introduce a new class of lightlike submanifolds, namely, Screen Cauchy Riemann (SCR) lightlike submanifolds of indefinite Kaehler manifolds. Contrary to CR-lightlike submanifolds, we show that SCR-lightlike submanifolds include invariant (complex) and screen real subcases of lightlike submanifolds. We study some properties of proper totally umbilical SCR-lightlike submanifolds, their invariant (complex) and screen real subcases.
