Öğe Adaptation of the cyber aggression in relationships scale to Turkish: A validity and reliability study(Wiley, 2021) Nacar, Gulcin; Timur Tashan, Sermin; Bekar, MinePurpose In this study, the cyber aggression in relationships scale (CARS) was intended to be adapted to Turkish. Design and Methods The study was designed as a methodological study with 426 students. Findings The best fit index values for both the cyber perpetration and cyber victimization scales (CVSs) were obtained through confirmatory factor analysis. Cronbach's alpha internal consistency coefficients for the overall and sub-dimensions of the cyber perpetration scale and CVS were found to range from 0.88 to 0.92 and 0.85 to 0.91, respectively. Practice Implications In the study, CARS was found to be a valid and reliable instrument for Turkish society.Öğe Effect of yoga on posttraumatic growth and quality of life in first-time mothers: A randomized controlled trial(Wiley, 2021) Unver, Hacer; Timur Tashan, SerminAim This study aims to examine the effect of yoga on posttraumatic growth and quality of life in postpartum mothers. Methods The study was conducted as randomized controlled. There were 160 participant mothers, including 80 for the yoga group and 80 for the control group. Mothers in the yoga group participated in individual yoga practices at their homes every weekday for 10 weeks. The personal information form, posttraumatic growth inventory (PTGI), and short form-36 (SF-36) Quality of Life Scale were used to collect data. Results The results showed that total and subscale mean scores of the PTGI were higher in the yoga group than the control group after the intervention. In comparison to the control group, the mean scores of the yoga group were higher in subscales as physical functioning, role-physical, bodily pain, general health, vitality, social functioning, mental health of the SF-36, after the intervention. Conclusion The yoga increased psychological growth and quality of life in the postpartum period. Health professionals could use yoga to increase the quality of life of mothers and to ensure their psychological growth in health care.Öğe The effects of health belief model-based education and acupressure for coping with premenstrual syndrome on premenstrual symptoms and quality of life: A randomized-controlled trial(Wiley, 2021) Simsek Kucukkelepce, Didem; Timur Tashan, SerminPurpose This study investigated the effects of health belief model-based education and acupressure for coping with premenstrual syndrome (PMS) on premenstrual symptoms and quality of life. Design and Methods The sample size was identified as 163 women. While the acupressure education group-administered education and acupressure, the education group-administered only education. No intervention made to the control group. Findings There was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest total mean scores of the intervention groups compared with the control group (P < .001). Practice Implications The education given to women for coping with PMS and acupressure both reduced premenstrual symptoms and improved quality of life.Öğe Turkish adaptation of Desire to Avoid Pregnancy Scale: A validity and reliability study(Wiley, 2022) Dogan Yuksekol, Ozlem; Duman, Mesude; Timur Tashan, SerminAim The purpose of the study was to adapt the Desire to Avoid Pregnancy Scale into Turkish and to study its validity and reliability. Methods The methodological study design was used. The study sample consisted of 510 nonpregnant women in a university hospital of a province in the east of Turkey between the dates of August 2019-February 2020. Personal information form and Turkish form of the scale were administered to women. The contraceptive intention scale was used as a parallel form. Results In the study, it was determined that the scale consisted of 14 items as a result of exploratory factor analysis. As a result of the item analysis, it was determined that the scale item total correlations were between r = 0.71 and 0.92. The Cronbach alpha coefficient of the scale was 0.97. The item-total correlation of the scale and parallel form reliability showed a high level of agreement. Conclusion It was determined that the Desire to Avoid Pregnancy Scale is a valid and reliable measurement tool for determining the wishes of Turkish women regarding pregnancy.Öğe Validity and reliability of the turkish version of the modified breast cancer worry scale(Iranıan journal of publıc health, 2018) Timur Tashan, Sermin; Ucar, Tuba; Aksoy Derya, Yesim; Nacar, Gulcin; Erci, BehiceBackground: There are many assessment instruments used for cancer worry. Many women worry about breast cancer, but In Turkey, there is no scale that assesses the worry about developing breast cancer. The aim of this study was to investigate the validity and reliability of the Turkish Breast Cancer Worry Scale (BCWS). This scale was created as a modified version of the Cancer Worry Scale. Methods: The study was conducted in a Family Health Center (FHC) located in eastern Turkey using a methodological design. The study sample consisted of 610 healthy women who referred to a FHC for any reason. The data were collected using the Participant Information Form and BCWS with a face-to-face interview conducted between Jun 2015 and Jan 2016. Construct validity of the scales was tested via factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, item-total score correlation coefficient, and test-retest correlations were calculated to check for reliability. Results: The factor load values of BCWS were found to be between 0.45 and 0.79. The total Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the scale was 0.78, and the total score correlations of items ranged between 0.32 and 0.64. The test-retest reliability coefficient of the scale was 0.81 (P=0.001). Conclusion: The Turkish version of the BCWS is a valid and reliable tool for assessing the effect of breast cancer worry on daily activities and mental condition.Öğe Validity and Reliability of the Turkish Version of the Modified Breast Cancer Worry Scale(Iranian Scientific Society Medical Entomology, 2018) Timur Tashan, Sermin; Ucar, Tuba; Aksoy Derya, Yesim; Nacar, Gulcin; Erci, BehiceBackground: There are many assessment instruments used for cancer worry.
