Öğe Analysis of chippaux smirak index on dynamic balance scores(2020) Şenol, Deniz; Toy, Şeyma; Bilge, Damla; Özdemir, Beyza; Özbağ, DavutAim: The aim of this study is to examine whether Chippaux Smirak Index (CSI) calculated from footprint and measurements takenfrom foot have an effect on balance scores.Materials and Methods: 61volunteers (25 males, 36 females) between the ages of 18 and 24 were included in our study and 122feet were measured. Footprints of the participants were taken by using Harris imprint. Footprints were scanned, the parameterswere measured with Digimizer program and CSI was calculated. Metatarsal foot width (MFW), maximum metatarsal foot width(MMFW), length of the foot (LoFA), heel width (HW) and foot length (FL) taken from footprints were measured. Individuals withCSI >62.70% were considered as flatfooted and excluded from the study. Dynamic balance measurements were made with BiodexBalance System (BBS) (Biodex Medical Systems, Shirley, 2000, New York). Overall (OA), anterior-posterior (AP) and medial-lateral(ML) dynamic balance assessments of the participants were made with eyes open.Results: According to Mann Whitney U analysis results, statistically significant difference was found between MFW, MMFW, LoFA,HW and FL parameters of men and women in both feet (p<0.05). It was found that OA, AP and ML balance scores had a statisticallysignificant difference between men and women for dynamic balance (p<0.05). According to Sperman Rho correlation analysis, apositive correlation was found between weight and body mass index (BMI) and balance scores in men and women. It was found thatthere was no significant correlation between CSI and balance scores.Conclusion: As a conclusion, while no association was found between weight and BMI and CSI, a positive correlation was foundbetween weight and balance scores. We believe the fact that women have lower BMI gives them an advantage in terms of balancescores. In addition, it was found as a result of this study that there was no association between CSI and balance scores. We believethat our study will have an important place in literature and be a guide since we compared both genders.Öğe Ankilozan spondilitli hastalarda preobezitenin yaşam kalitesine etkileri(İnönü Üniversitesi, 2014) Toy, ŞeymaAmaç; Ankilozan spondilit (AS), kronik, inflamasyonla karakterize spondilartropatilerin prototipi olan bir hastalıktır. Pek çok kronik hastalık gibi AS de hastaların yaşam kalite-lerini etkilemektedir. Vücut Kitle İndeksi (VKİ) toplam vücut yağı ile korelasyon göste-ren ağırlığın, boyun karesine bölünmesiyle (ağırlık (kg) / boy (m²)) bulunur. Bu ölçüm günümüzde en sık kullanılan yöntemdir. Biz bu çalışmayı preobezitenin AS'li hastaların yaşam kalitesi üzerine etkisini incelemek amacıyla planladık. Yöntem; Çalışmaya İnönü Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi Fiziksel Tıp ve Rehabilitasyon (FTR) Anabilim Dalı kliniğine başvuran, Modifiye New York Kriterleri'ne göre AS tanısı almış 28 hasta alındı ve kontrol grubu da 30 sağlıklı erişkinden seçildi. Hastalar kontrol grubuyla yaş, cinsiyet, vücut kitle indeksi, öğrenim durumu, mesleki durum açısından eşleştirildi. AS hastalarının hastalık aktivitesi Bath AS Hastalık Aktivite İndeksi (BASDAI) ile, fonksiyonel durumu da Bath AS Fonksiyonel İndeksi (BASFI) ile değer-lendirildi. AS hastalarında yaşam kalitesini değerlendirmek için Ankilozan Spondilit Yaşam Kalite Anketi (ASQoL), sağlıklı erişkinlerle AS'li erişkinlerin yaşam kalitesini karşılaştırmak için ise Kısa Form - 36 (SF - 36) kullanıldı. Sonuç; AS'li hastalarda yüksek VKİ'nin yaşam kalitesini etkileyen faktörlerden biridir. Yaşamın hangi alanlarında etkilenme olduğunun tespit edilmesinin, tedavi stratejilerinin belirlenmesi açısından yol gösterici olacağına inanıyoruz. Tartışma; VKİ'nin yüksek olması ve düşük öğrenim durumunun AS hastalarında yaşam kalitesini etkileyen faktörler olduğu tespit edildi. Ayrıca AS'li kadın hastalarda BASDAI değerlerinin daha yüksek olduğunu gözlemledik. AS'li hastalar kontrol grubuyla karşılaştırıldığında yaşam kalitelerinin düşük olduğunu tespit ettik. AS'li hastalarda artmış BASFI skorları ile yüksek VKİ arasında anlamlı bir korelasyon olduğunu gözlemledik.Öğe The Effects of Kinesio Taping on Reaction Time, Pain, Hand Grip Strength and Upper Extremity Functional State in Patients with Lateral Epicondylitis(2021) Toy, Şeyma; Şenol, Deniz; Çiftci, Rukiye; Kızılay, Fatma; Ersoy, YükselAbstract: Purpose: This study aims to evaluate the effects of kinesio taping (KT) in addition to conventional physiotherapy methods, on visualreaction time (VRT) and auditory reaction time (ART), pain, handgrip strength (HGS), and upper extremity function in patients withlateral epicondylitis (LE).Materials and Methods: 70 patients diagnosed with LE by a physician in a university hospital were included in the study. Patientswith LE were randomly divided into “Inhibitory KT” (IKT) and “Sham KT” (SKT) groups. Visual Analog Scale (VAS) measureswere made at rest (VAS-R), with movement (VAS-M), and at night (VAS-N) separately. Hubbard Scientific reaction timer for VRTART assessment, quick disability of the arm, shoulder, and hand questionnaire (Quick DASH) for the functional state, and Jamar handdynamometer measurements for HGS were recorded for pre-treatment and post-treatment comparisons.Results: In pre-treatment and post-treatment group comparison, it was found that both groups showed statistically significant recoveryin all parameters (p<0.05). When post-treatment data of the groups were compared, it was found that VAS-M, VAS-R, VRT, and ARTscores showed a statistically significant decrease in the IKT group (p<0.05).Conclusion: The present study shows that KT application in addition to conventional physiotherapy was an effective method in LE’sconservative treatment. Statistically significant differences were found on pain, reaction time (RT) scores in favor of the IKT groupwhen the post-treatment results of both groups were comparedÖğe Evaluation of Anthropometric Compatibility of Office Furniture with Mobile, Desktop and Web Software Platforms and Posture Exercise Program- An Application-Based Study(2021) Özdemir, Filiz; Toy, Şeyma; Kızılay, Fatma; Arı, Ali; Özdemir, Mustafa KemalAim: Work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) have been observed commonly in office workers with the development of technology. These problems affect the quality of life for individuals and also productivity in the workplace. The aim of this study is to design an application in which the anthropometric compatibility of office furniture is evaluated and individualized planned posture exercise training is included. Material and Method: The designed application consists of 4 modules. An application has been designed to classify the compatibility and incompatibilities in the first and second modules. The third and fourth modules are designed for personalized exercise definition and follow-up. Results: Within the scope of the application, 4 modules were combined in a single application. The modules that evaluate the anthropometric suitability of office furniture and calculate the compatibility of office furniture; it is the first and second module. The third module contains the definition of the exercise. The fourth module includes the follow-up of the exercise program. Conclusion: It is obvious that the current designed application will provide innovation to work health. Based on our hypothesis, we think that the designed application will also be effective for health protection and promotion in office workers.Öğe Evaluation of Online Anatomy Education Given in Medicine and Dentistry Faculties of Universities During Covid-19 Pandemic with Student(2021) Şenol, Deniz; Toy, Şeyma; Canbolat, Mustafa; Pektaş, MuratAbstract: Objective: We are experiencing the effects of Covid-19 pandemic as the whole world. All educational facilities have been negatively affected within this period. In this study, the aim was to evaluate online Anatomy education during Covid-19 pandemic with students’ feedbacks and it was questioned whether it would be efficient to use online education more actively in the following years.Methods: A total of 1127 first and second year students from Dentistry Faculty and Medicine Faculty of Düzce, Karabük and İnönü Universities were included in the study. The survey prepared in “Google Forms” was sent online to students via “WhatsApp” application. Descriptive statistical analyses were used in data.Results: According to analysis results, it was found that the students agreed on the content and efficiency of online anatomy education, not having learning difficulties, the layout of the lessons, the importance of the lesson, the necessity for their profession, the importance of visual tools, they are worried about not being able to do face-to-face lessons, and anatomy theoretical courses shouldn’t be taught online when the pandemics is over. It was found that medicine faculty students placed more importance on anatomy education in terms of professional aspects.Conclusions: As a result, we believe that the online Anatomy education students receive is important in terms of their professional development. However, we believe that it won’t be possible for online Anatomy education to replace face-to-face education. This study will be a resource for studies to be conducted in medicine and health sciences fields in terms of online education.Öğe Fibromyalgia in the mothers of the children with cerebral palsy, and determination of the related depression and anxiety situations(2019) Toy, Şeyma; Beykumül, Ayşegül; Avcı, Zeynep Tuğçe; Büyükavcı, RaikanAbstract: Objectives: In this study, it was aimed to evaluate maternal functional status, quality of life, depression andanxiety measurements according to the child's functional level in the mothers, who were diagnosed withfibromyalgia syndrome (FMS), of children with cerebral palsy (CP).Methods: Ninety-seven mothers diagnosed with FMS, whose children had CP, were included in the study.Children with CP were divided into two functional levels with the Gross Motor Function Classification System(GMFCS) as mild-moderate (level 1, 2 and 3) and severe (level 4 and 5). On mothers, The Fibromyalgia ImpactQuestionnaire (FIQ) was used to assess the functional levels and quality of life, Beck Depression Inventory(BDI) was used to evaluate the depression level, and Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) was used to determine theanxiety level.Results: The mean age of the 97 female patients participating in the study was 35.93 ± 8.72 years. Accordingto GMFCS, 67% of children with CP were mild to moderate while 33% were severe. There was a significantpositive correlation between GMFCS levels of children with CP and their mother's FIQ, BDI, and BAI scores(p < 0.05).Conclusions: Maintaining the daily life of a child with CP is a parenting-focused situation. Especially it affectsthe mother physically and mentally. Our study suggests that the severe physical condition of the child with CPincreases the mother's FIQ, depression, and anxiety. It has been determined that studies on CP should not ignorethe parental factor as well as research on the disease itself.Öğe Fiziksel Engelli Çocuklarda Beslenme Durumu ile Somatotip Profilleri Arasındaki İlişkinin Değerlendirilmesi(2021) Çiftçi, Rukiye; Kızılay, Fatma; Toy, Şeyma; Şenol, Deniz; Akyol, Betül; Ersoy, Yüksel; Özbağ, DavutFiziksel engelli çocuklarda beslenme durumu somatotip karaktertipini etkileyebilir. Bu çocuklarda beslenme durumunun olumsuzetkilenmesi aşırı zayıflığa veya aşırı kilo alımına, özelliklekilonun vücudun santral bölgesinde toplanmasına nedenolabilecek bir etkendir. Fiziksel engelli çocuklarda beslenmeninobezite ile ilişkisi bilinmekle birlikte, somatotip üzerine etkisiniaraştıran sınırlı çalışma bulunmaktadır. Bu çalışmada fizikselengelli çocuklarda beslenme durumunun somatotip karakterleriüzerine etkisinin belirlenmesi amaçlandı. Çalışmaya 84 fizikselengelli çocuk katıldı. Çocuklar fonksiyonel engel seviyeleri KabaMotor Fonksiyon Sınıflama Sistemi (KMFSS) ile değerlendirildi.Çocukların yaş, boy, vücut ağırlığı, vücut kitle indeksi (VKİ)değişkenleri belirlendi. Somatotip karakter analizi Heath-Cartermetodu ile beslenme durumu ise Çocuk Beslenme Anketi (ÇBA)ile değerlendirildi. Çocuklarda ‘mezomorfik endomorf’, ‘endomezomorf’, ‘dengeli ektomorf’ ile ‘mezomorfi ve endomorfi’olmak üzere 4 somatotip karakteri belirlendi. Yapılan istatistikselanaliz sonucunda fiziksel engelli çocukların somatotipkarakterleri ile beslenme durumları arasında ilişki olmadığıbelirlendi (p>0.05). Fiziksel engelli çocuklarda somatotipkarakterleri ile beslenme durumları arasında ilişki bulunmadı. Budurum fiziksel engelli çocuklarda somatotip karakteri belirleyendiğer etkenlerin araştırılması yönünden dikkate alınmalıdır.Öğe Mallampati skoru ile farklı somatotiplerin antropometrik ölçümleri arasındaki ilişkinin değerlendirilmesi(İnönü Üniversitesi, 2018) Toy, ŞeymaAmaç: Modifiye Mallampati skoru (MMS) ile farklı somatotiplerin mallampati skoruna etki eden antropometrik ölçümleri arasındaki ilişkisini değerlendirmeyi amaçladık. Materyal ve metot: Amerikan Anesteziyoloji Topluluğu (ASA) fiziksel sınıflamasına göre grup 1-2 olan, elektif şartlarda genel anestezi altında ameliyat edilecek, 18-70 yaş arası 155 erkek 155 kadın hasta çalışmaya dahil edildi. Hastaların demografik verileri ve MMS kaydedildi. Tiromental mesafe (TMM), sternomental mesafe (SMM), hyomental mesafe (HMM) ölçümleri, horizontal mandibula uzunluğu (HMU), üst dudak ısırma testi (ÜDIT), boyun ekstansiyonu ölçümü, boyun çevresi ölçümü, biakromial mesafe ölçümü ve toraks antropometrik ölçümleri kaydedildi. 'Heath ve Carter' metoduna göre somatotipleri belirlemek için antropometrik ölçümler alındı. Somatotipler "Somatotype for Windows 1.2.6 Trial Version" programı ile belirlendi. Verilerin istatistiksel analizi SPSS 22.0 paket programında yapıldı. Bulgular: Erkek ve kadınlarda beş farklı somatotip karakteri tespit edildi. Cinsiyetler arasında demografik veriler açısından istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık bulunmadı (p≥0.05). Beş farklı somatotip karakterindeki erkeklerde yaş, vücut kitle indeksi (VKİ), MMS, boyun çevresi ölçümü, boyun ekstansiyon ölçümü, TMM, SMM, HMM, biakromial mesafe ölçümü ve toraks derinliği ölçümlerinde, kadın somatotip gruplarında erkeklerdekine ek olarak toraks genişliği ölçümünde de istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık olduğu tespit edildi (p<0.05). Sonuç: Bu çalışma ile MMS ve antropometrik ölçümler ile birlikte kullanılacak somatotip karakteri analizinin preoperatif değerlendirmede istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir yeri olabileceği ortaya konuldu.
