Öğe Comparison of Surface Roughness and Microhardness of Reinforced Glass Ionomer Cements and Microhybrid Composite(Univ Indonesia, Fac Dentistry, 2021) Karakas, Seda Nur; Turgut, Hacer; Kuden, CihanObjectives: The purpose of this study was to compare high viscosity glass ionomer cement (HVGIC), giomer and microhybrid composite using the atomic force microscopy (AFM) and Vickers microhardness. Methods: Three different restorative materials Equia Forte (HVGIC), Beautifil II (giomer) and Solare X (microhybrid composite) were used in this study. A total of 30 samples were prepared, 10 of each of the restorative materials used in our study. Samples were prepared using standard cylindrical Teflon molds with a diameter of 8 mm and a height of 2 mm. The measurements of surface roughness and hardness were performed by using AFM and Vickers microhardness, respectively. The surface roughness was analyzed using the Kruskal Wallis test. One-way variance analysis (ANOVA) and LSD test was used for the surface hardness (alpha = 0.05). Results: There was no significant difference between the groups according to surface roughness values (p> 0.05). A statistically significant difference was found between all groups in terms of surface hardness. Conclusion: Reinforced glass ionomer cements had similar and surface properties than composite resin.Öğe COMPARISON OF THE MICROHARDNESS OF BULK FILL COMPOSITES(2022) Şişman, Reyhan; Dayı, Burak; Turgut, Hacer; Şimşek, EnisThe aim of this study is to compare the microhardness of five different bulk fill composites (SDR, TEC, XTF, SF, FBF). A total of 25 cylindrical molds were prepared. Composite resin was placed in each mold in sequence, at one time, by condensing it thoroughly. Then, the polymerization of the composites was achieved with the LED light device which was applied for 20 seconds. Microhardness measurements of the samples were made with the classical Vicker's test. The data of our study were evaluated by using the Kruskal Wallis H test with the SPSS 20.0 package program. When the measured surface microhardness values were compared between the groups; microhardness values SDR and FBF groups were found to be significantly lower than TEC, XTF and KSF groups (p<0.05). When the sub-surface microhardness values were compared between the groups; the microhardness value of the SDR group was found to be significantly higher than the FBF group, and significantly lower than the TEC, XTF and KSF groups (p<0.05). When both the lower and upper surface microhardness values were compared between the groups, XTF was found to be the bulk fill composite group with the best microhardness.Öğe DÜŞÜK POLİMERİZASYON BÜZÜLMESİ GÖSTEREN MODERN KOMPOZİTLER İLE METAKRİLAT ESASLI REZİN KOMPOZİTİN KONVERSİYON ORANLARININ DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ(Atatürk Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi Dergisi, 2014) Barutcigil, Çağatay; Ahmetoğlu, Fuat; Turgut, Hacer; Dayı, Burak; Yalçın, MuhammetÖz: Amaç: Bu in-vitro çalışmanın amacı üç farklı rezin kompozitin konversiyon oranlarının belirlenmesidir. OF THE SHEAR BOND STRENGTH, MICROLEAKAGE AND COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF REINFORCED GLASS IONOMER CEMENTS USED AS PERMANENT RESTORATIVE MATERIALS(2021) Karakaş, Seda Nur; Turgut, HacerAbstract: In this study, it is aimed to compare the usage of reinforced glass ionomer materials such as high viscosity glass ionomer and giomer as a permanent restorative material with the composite resin in terms of the mechanical properties. In our study, three groups were used: Equia Forte, Beautifil II and Solare X. For the shear bond strength test; 48, and for the microleakage test; 27 extracted third molar teeth were used. A total of 30 samples were prepared for the compressive strength test. Shear and compressive strength tests were performed by using universal test devices. Standard class V cavities were prepared on the buccal and lingual surfaces of the tooth for the microleakage test. Thermal cycling (5-55oCx10.000) was applied to the restored teeth. According to the statistical analysis, difference was found between all groups in the shear bond strength, compressive strength and microleakage tests (p<0.05). Solare X has showed the highest shear bond strength. Equia Forte has showed the lowest value in the microleakage test. Beautifil II has showed the highest compressive strength. Reinforced glass ionomer cements have been determined to have similar and better mechanical properties than composite resin in all the tests except the shear bond strength test.Öğe EVALUATION OF THE SHEAR BOND STRENGTH, MICROLEAKAGE AND COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH OF REINFORCED GLASS IONOMER CEMENTS USED AS PERMANENT RESTORATİVE MATERİALS(2021) KARAKAŞ, Seda Nur; Turgut, HacerIn this study, it is aimed to compare the usage of reinforced glass ionomer materials such as high viscosity glass ionomer and giomer as a permanent restorative material with the composite resin in terms of the mechanical properties. The first pregnancy of a 25-year-old woman resulted in one twin born by Cesarian section at 32 weeks’ gestation, who was referred to our hospital with cyanosis, a congenital anomaly and respiratory distress. On physical examination, there was no urogenital region and anal fissure and gender was indeterminate. The arms were in adduction and wrist in flexion position with four fingers on the right hand and two fingers on the left hand. There was a single lower extremity with a webbed single foot and two toes consistent with sirenomelia type IV radiologically. Abdominal ultrasonography showed urogenital system agenesis and echocardiography detected hypoplastic left heart. However, the patient died 4 hours after birth. The other twin was followed for 1 week for nutrition and respiratory support and was then discharged without any problems.
