The molecule possesses a twofold rotation axis passing through the Te atom and the center of the benzimidazole ring system. The Co-II atom is coordinated in a distorted tetrahedral environment by two Cl atoms and two N atoms. All synthesized novel benzimidazole derivatives were characterized by elemental analysis and NMR spectroscopy. In addition, the molecular structure of 2a was determined by X-ray crystallography.
