Öğe An application for a production system by using simulation modelling tecniques(Int Inst Informatics & Systemics, 2002) Yeroglu, C; Akdeniz, RWith the increasing challenge confronting businesses to develop better systems for providing good and services. Computer simulation is emerging as a powerful decision making tool for achieving significant improvements in the design and operation of manufacturing systems. We decided to write this paper with the hope of removing mystery surrounding simulation by providing practical techniques for managers and engineers who have been too skeptical and perhaps even timid about putting it to use. In a highly competitive manufacturing industry simulation lets you experiment with a computer model of your systein in compressed time giving you decision making capability without disturbing your system. During this workshop, production lines of a factory is modeled and simulated. Multiple replications are made for getting outcomes of the model. Regarding to outcomes of the model, bottlenecks analysis, forklift work distribution analysis arc made. Proposed solutions are made for this production system referring to the analyses of the simulation model outcomes.Öğe Computation of stabilizing PI parameters for vehicle suspension system using the stability boundary locus(Ieee, 2004) Yeroglu, C; Tan, NThis paper presents a new approach for the design of vehicle suspension system with the goal to maximise passenger comfort by minimising vertical acceleration. For this reason PI controlled suspension system, at which controller parameters are computed by using the stability boundary locus, is proposed. In order to select the best parameters in the stability region obtained using the stability boundary locus, the phase margin and the gain margin of system is studied and step response of the system is evaluated. The proposed method offers several important advantages over existing results since it is simple to apply and does not need to sweep over the parameters.Öğe Investigation of the characteristics of dielectric barrier discharge in the transition region(Iop Publishing Ltd, 2005) Alisoy, HZ; Yeroglu, C; Koseoglu, M; Hansu, FIn the paper, we study the dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) occurring in a metal-insulator-gas-insulator-metal system. We encounter these kinds of discharges in ozonator-type reactors used in gas electrochemistry. The experiments are done in air medium when the gap width value is 580 mu m and the pressure is in the interval of 1-100 mbar. The schematic diagram of the experimental mechanism and the drawing methods of the characteristics are given, and it is determined that the barrier discharge has an impulse character. Experimentally, we determine that the voltage-current (v-i) and voltage-charge (v-q) characteristics of the discharge are linear for the case of (pl) < (pl)(cr) and step shaped for the case of (pl) > (pl)(cr), and these cases are explained theoretically. Furthermore, the determination method of the ratio of the fading voltage depending on the width of the steps of the experimental v-i characteristic to the inception voltage is given in this paper.
