Öğe Affective temperament profile in ankylosing spondylitis patients using TEMPS-A(Society of Physical Therapy Science (Rigaku Ryoho Kagakugakkai), 2017) Yildirim T.; Solmaz D.; Emul M.; Akgol G.; Yalvac D.; Ersoy Y.[Purpose] This study aimed to compare the most common dominant affective temperaments in Ankylosing Spondylitis patients and investigate the relationship between the dominant affective temperaments and pain levels, disease activity, quality of life, current depression, and anxiety level in Ankylosing Spondylitis patients. [Subjects and Methods] Fifty-one patients diagnosed with axial spondiloartropathy and forty-two age- and gender-matched control subjects were included in this study. Disease duration, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, serum C-reactive protein, pain by the Visual Analog Scale, disease activity by the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index, functional status by the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index; psychological status by the Beck Depression Inventory, Beck Anxiety Inventory and overall health assessment by the Ankylosing Spondylitis Quality of Life Scale were assessed in patients. The Turkish version of the Temperament Evaluation of Memphis, Pisa, Paris and San Diego Auto Questionnaire was used to determine the dominant affective temperament. [Results] There was no statistical difference in the distribution of temperament subtypes between patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis and the controls. Depressive, anxious, and cyclothymic temperament scores were higher in patients with high values on the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index and Visual Analog Scale. There was a correlation between anxious subtypes of affective temperament scores and the value of Ankylosing Spondylitis Quality of Life Scale. Correlation analysis also found depressive, cyclothymic, irritable, and anxious temperament and psychiatric symptoms to be significantly related. [Conclusion] Affective temperament may contribute to symptoms of depression and anxiety in patients with Ankylosing Spondylitis and may increase disease activity and may reduce their quality of life. © 2017 The Society of Physical Therapy Science.Öğe Evaluation in the Psychological Help: Psychological Group Counseling Experience from Members' Eyes(Turkish Psychological Counseling and Guidance Association, 2023) Yildirim T.; Çelik M.; Güneş B.Psychological counseling groups are distinguished from other groups by their intense therapeutic effect. This study was conducted to address questioning and disclosing members' perceptions of the group counseling process which is considered a gap in the literature. The study participants consisted of eight members who completed the psychological counseling process (14 sessions) with dynamic-oriented individual-centered groups in 2019-2020. Data were collected through a focus group interview, with a phenomenological research design to define and interpret detailed descriptions of members' perspectives and specific meanings. The Thematic Analysis template was used to analyze the data. Six themes emerged from the results: Feelings and thoughts in the first phase of the process, feeling of being group, effects of the process, the leader and the influence of his practices, separation anxiety experiences, and suggestions. This study, which aims to reveal the experiences of the members at the beginning, middle, and end of the process and the meanings they derive from these experiences, can be useful for intern students, supervisors, leaders, and co-leaders who will conduct group counseling. © 2023 The Authors.Öğe Opinions of Psychological Counselor and Guidance Teachers Taking Work in Earthquake Psychosocial Support Works (Malatya Province Example)(Turkish Psychological Counseling and Guidance Association, 2024) Aşik M.; Yildirim T.This study was carried out with psychological counselor/guidance teachers working within the scope of psychosocial support services in the earthquake region of Malatya in 2020. The research was carried out by using the phenomenological design, one of the qualitative research models, with the focus group interview method. 11 psychological counselors/guidance teachers participated in the study. During the interview, video and audio recordings were taken and the interviews were deciphered. Content analysis method was used to analyze the findings. When the findings of the study were examined, it was revealed that the motivation of the participants to provide psychosocial support services was prior experience and encouragement. Encouragement; In the title, the support and experience of the Guidance and Research Center Directorate (RAM), attending the coordination meeting and communicating with colleagues are mainly included. Findings were obtained that the participants did not feel professionally competent before starting psychosocial support activities. However, towards the end of the studies, there are also findings regarding the development of professional competence. It was found as the most extraordinary event that some of the relatives of the people who died due to the earthquake found solace in death. Participants stated their expectations and suggestions regarding post-earthquake psychosocial support activities. © 2024 The Authors.Öğe Relationship between Rectus Femoris Muscle Architecture and Isokinetic Peak Knee Extension Torque in Physically Active Men(Montenegrin Sports Academy, 2024) Cinarli F.S.; Kafkas E.; Rudy K.; Yildirim T.; Raj I.S.; Duhig S.The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between rectus femoris muscle architecture and isokinetic concentric peak knee extension torque at various velocities. Twenty physically active men (age =21.1±1.41 years, weight =69.9±5.7 kg, height =176.4±7.07 cm) had their isokinetic concentric knee extensor (Biodex 4 Pro, Biodex Medical Inc, Shirley, USA) strength assessed at 60°/sec, 180°/sec and 300°/sec. Pennation angle, muscle thickness, and fascicle length of the rectus femoris was measured using real-time B-mode ultrasound (Logiq P5, GE Healthcare, UK). Pennation angle had a significant positive correlation to peak torque at 60°/sec (r=0.731, p=0.001), 180°/sec (r=0.802, p=0.001) and 300°/sec (r=0.685, p=0.001). There was a significant positive correlation between muscle thickness and peak torque at 60°/sec (r=0.718, p=0.001), 180°/sec (r=0.749, p=0.001) and 300°/sec (r=0.722, p=0.001). However, there was no significant correlation between fascicle length and the isokinetic peak torque values (p>0.05). In addition, pennation angle and muscle thickness were found to be significant contributors for predicting isokinetic knee extension torque (R2=0.47-0.64; p<0.01). Pennation angle and muscle thickness best predicted peak knee extension torque at 180°/sec (explained variance =64% and 56%, respectively). This study suggests that pennation angle and muscle thickness can be used to predict isokinetic knee extension torque in physically active men. © 2024 Montenegrin Sports Academy. All rights reserved.
