dc.description.abstractHaving made signifcant suggestions and comparisons between the cultural features of his own society and xvi. century Turkish culture and its structural development, O. C. Busbecq, in his memorial writings, critically assessed the cultural differences between societies. With an appeal to Busbecq's suggestions, we have in this study attempted to delineate the borders of the cultural and mental differences between Turkish and Western societies in a sociological context. As a consequence, we have reached the conclusion that some of the cultural and ethic features that Turkish socety had developed in past should be updated and rehabilitated in aperiod like this in which we see Turkish society is experiencing a great cultural change.en_US
