dc.description.abstract | This study aimed to determine utility of flamenco guitar styles accompanied with ballads that eligible for Music course curriculum. Ballads named ‘Şu Dereler Şu Düzler (Bombili)’ and ‘Tin Tin Tini Mini Hanım’ were chosen for the study and arranged in compliance with the flamenco guitar rendering styles using rasgueado, alzapua, golpe and rumba techniques. Students’ guitar playing skills were taken into consideration on setting different variations of these techniques. The study group covered 16 students receiving individual instrument (guitar) education in Ataturk University Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education Department of Music Education during the academic year of 2014-2015. In the study, an experimental research design with pre-test/post-test and control group, a special type of random assignment, was used. Topics arranged for the teaching system were studied with the experimental group on the chosen ballads for the research with practical examples. Within the research design, except for the conventional techniques, none of the other approaches or designs was used for the control group. Non-parametric test of MannWhitney U Test was used in order to determine whether a significant difference exists between pre-test and post-test results of the control and experimental groups. On assessing the whole results, it was obvious that experimental group students were more successful at accompanying the ballads in comparison with the control group students. | en_US |
