The notion Middle East started to settle towards the end of the XIX century, and implied mostly the regions under the Ottoman rule, as well as Iran and Afghanistan. This area is nowadays to expand to include many regions and sub-regions from the North Africa to the Persian Gulf and from the Aegean shores to the Chinese border, together with some political designs aiming at many radical changes in life of peoples of the region, most of whom are Muslims. In the aftermath of the September 11, 2201, the US plans to control petrol and other energy sources, to provide security for Israel, and to minimize harms of global terror, in the context of these changes under the name Expanded or Greater Middle East Project, which is actively going on. Thus, there started a new phase in the East-West conflict, which has lasted in a process for the last two millenniums, and which means clash of two different life styles formed around different values. In this term, besides of the regional powers like Turkey and Iran, another country having a sophisticated net of relations with the region from the ancient times on, and exhibiting a rapid and continuous development in the last years, namely India has also started to gain importance in its strategy of interfering events in Middle East. India is an oriental country, as well as an Islamic one, with its Muslim population of more than two hundred millions. In other words, at least a significant part of the Indian society believes to be part of a whole with the peoples of Middle East. Thus, its historical links and current relationships forces India to act commonly with Middle East countries, but the New Delhi government cannot be influential in the region as in the cases of USA, Russia, Britain and France, in spite of its all efforts. One should have a glance at relationships of India with Middle East, especially in new ages, in order to extract reasons of this situation and fundaments of future policies of India regarding countries of this region.en_US
