Özet

Objective: This study was conducted to determinate the relationship between the social support levels and life satisfaction of married women who are nonworking and how are affected factors. Methods: Population of this descriptive study consisted of married women who are non-working. They were registered at 2 family health center found in the city center of Malatya in the between 10 March and 13 May 2015. The sample consisted of 254 married women who non-working, agreed with the study criteria and agreed to participate in the survey. The data were collected by the researchers using questionnaire form prepared upon the literature review, life satisfaction scale and multidimensional perceived social support scale through face-to-face interview method. In the analysis of the data; number, percent, Anova, t test and correlation were used. Results: The average age of the women participating in the survey was 40.11 +/- 11.46 years, and life satisfaction and social support were found to be moderate. It was determined that there is a positive relationship between social support and life satisfaction, as the social support increases, life satisfaction also increases. Conclusion: Life satisfaction of women with a high level of social support also increases. Accordingly, since women with social support can look more positively from the other side, social support levels of women who do not work in particular should be increased.
