Özet
The main reason that effects the emotions of each human behavior is the thoughts of the humankind. The existence of the emotions has a key role in shaping the life of human and a change in the emotions in a different and dangerous way may affect the mental health of the individuals. One of the most important requirements for each individual is the, security. situation., Fear. is a normal feeling if the emotion is controlled and limited, otherwise it may cause a inexcusable situation. It is very well known that the fear that is a main subject for the art, and especially in the literature that feeling is a main determinant of the all kinds of literature. Ahmet Hamdi Tanpinar, who is aware of the Eastern and Western literature in deep, uses fear in his studies very often. The author uses his art very efficiently and often in order to avoid his fears in the real life. Tanpinar especially uses that topic in the stories especially in the story Abdullah Efendi'nin Ruyalari. Social life and the society, sexuality-women, castration, betrayal, death, get far from the mother, to lose the individual integrity, abandonment, and darkness are the main fears of Abdullah Efendi. The story is full of great unconscious examples and focus on the long night that he tries to escape his fears. The main purpose of the study is to determine the optimum fear feeling that will result a healthy psychological and physiologic life. If the fear feeling is more than the required optimum, such results will be commented within the framework of Abdullah Efendi character.
