Özet
In this study, the use of ceramics as a building and coating material and ceramic coatings used in sculptural architectures were investigated. After the industrial revolution, it has been seen that different building forms have emerged with the use of steel and glass in architectural coatings. As one of these, sculptural architectures became the symbol of cities, ceramic coatings began to be used as an alternative material in these structures. In cities that developed rapidly with the industrial revolution, various art movements, social and individual freedoms affected architecture as well as all fields of art. In this period, when the sharp boundaries between the fields of art disappeared, it was seen that different disciplines such as ceramics and sculpture were combined with architectural designs. Traditional and industrial ceramic tiles have been harmonized with architectural forms, both functionally, environmentally and aesthetically, with the collaboration of architects and artists. Thus, ceramic coatings began to be used as an alternative material other than glass and metal in sculptural structures in cities. In this study, ceramic tiles with different features used in Maat and Xinjin Zhi Museums, which were built in sculptural architectural forms with different functional features, were examined.
