Özet
People's Houses played a pioneering role, among other cultural institutions, in the aim of spreading the values and achievements of Republican regime to the masses, in formative years of Turkish Republic. On 19th February 1932, the People's Houses were foundede in 14 provinces, and to whole country extended its efficiency. The number increased to 478 and also in 4322 villages founded People's Rooms gathering places operating under their control until the the year of 1951 when they were closed down. Merzifon People's House opened his door three years, played a significant role in the social and cultural life of the town until its closedown in 1950, and it published the journal of Tasan periodically from 1st June 1936 to 1st November 1938, in addition to its peculiar works. Tasan published research articles with regard to the establishment of the Republic and the Turkish revolutionary principles, revolutionary leadership, national matters and field research on Turkish folklore.
