İnsanın toplum dışında, birey olarak tek başına yaşaması düşünülemez ve dünya var olduğundan beri insanlar barınma, beslenme, güvenlik gibi ihtiyaçlarını karşılamak amacıyla kendilerinden başka insanlarla yaşama gereksinimi duymuşlardır. Bu durum toplumsal sürecin devamını ve sürekliliğini sağlamıştır. İnsanlık tarihi boyunca birçok kırılma yaşayan insanoğlu birdenbire girdiği bilgi ve teknoloji çağı ile birlikte ülkeler arasındaki ekonomik, teknolojik, eğitimsel farklılıklar artmıştır. Bu farklılıklar sosyoekonomik, jeopolitik, sosyokültürel nedenlerden dolayı aynı ülkenin değişik bölgelerinde bile görülmeye başlanmıştır. Çalışmamızda da belirttiğimiz üzere ekonomik, teknolojik, eğitimsel kalkınmalar sayesinde ülkeler vatandaşlarının daha rahat ve huzurlu yaşamalarını sağlamayı amaçlamış; onların yaşam kalitesini ve seviyesini yükseltmeye çalışmışlardır. Kalkınmanın hem öznesi hem nesnesi konumunda olan insan, eğitim ile nitelikli hâle gelmekte ve kalkınma sürecini etkin bir şekilde yürütebilmektedir. Kalkınmanın ancak eğitim ile başarılacağı görülmektedir. Bu durum eğitim kurumlarını ön plana çıkarmakta ve insan için ne kadar önemli olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Nitelikli insan gücünün yetiştirmeyi hedefleyen üniversiteler, kalkınmanın önemli basamaklarından biridir. Son yıllarda dünyada ve ülkemizde üniversitelerin kalkınma ile ilgili etkinliklerinin arttığı görülmektedir. Üniversitelerin kuruldukları şehre konut, ulaşım, sosyal harcamalar yoluyla doğrudan nakit girişini sağlamaları, bölgenin ekonomik anlamda rahatlamasını sağlar. Sanayi devleti olma yolunda ciddi gayretleri bulunan ülkemizde, ziraat fakülteleri gibi tarımsal faaliyetlere destek veren projelerle devletin ve toplumun iktisadi altyapısına doğrudan etkide bulunulmuş ve yine günümüzdeki üniversitelerin bünyesindeki mühendislik fakültelerinin, sundukları yeni projelerle sanayi ve teknolojiye doğrudan katkıları devam etmektedir. Özellikle tıp, kimya ve mühendislik alanlarında sürdürülen çalışmalar, üniversite-sanayi işbirliği sayesinde sonuca ulaşmakta ve büyük kazanımlar elde edilmektedir. Bu araştırmanın genel amacı, üniversitelerin kalkınmadaki rolüne ilişkin akademisyen görüşlerini belirlemektir. Bu genel amacı gerçekleştirmek amacıyla nitel araştırma yönteminde yararlanılıp, çalışmada elde edilen veriler içerik analizine tabi tutularak alt temalar şeklinde verilmiştir. Çalışma grubunu akademisyenlerin, konuya ilişkin farklı algılara sahip oldukları elde edilen bulgulardan hareketle söylenebilir.
It is unthinkable that human beings can live on their own as an individual outside society, and since the world has existed, people need to live with people other than themselves in order to meet their needs such as housing, nutrition and security. This provided continuity and continuity of the social process. Throughout the history of humanity, many fractured human beings have suddenly increased the economic, technological and educational differences between countries with the age of information and technology. Due to socioeconomic, geopolitical and sociocultural reasons, these differences were observed even in different regions of the same country. As we mentioned in our study, countries have aimed to provide more comfortable and peaceful lives thanks to economic, technological and educational developments. they have tried to improve their quality of life and quality. The human being, who is both the subject and the object of development, becomes qualified with education and can carry out the development process effectively. Development can only be achieved through education. This situation brings the educational institutions to the forefront and shows how important it is for human beings. Universities aiming to train qualified manpower are one of the important steps of development. In recent years, it has been observed that the activities of universities in Turkey and in the world have increased. The fact that universities provide direct cash inflow through the housing, transportation and social expenditures to the city where they are established enables the region to relax economically. In our country, which has made serious efforts towards becoming an industrial state, the projects that support agricultural activities such as agriculture faculties have a direct impact on the economic infrastructure of the state and society, and the faculties of engineering faculties under the current universities continue to contribute directly to the industry and technology with the new projects they offer. Especially, studies in the fields of medicine, chemistry and engineering have been achieved through university-industry cooperation and big gains have been achieved. The general aim of this research is to determine the views of social studies teachers about the role of universities in development. In order to achieve this general purpose, qualitative research method was used and the data obtained in the study were subjected to content analysis and given as sub-themes. It can be said that the social studies teachers who constitute the working group have different perceptions about the subject..
