2000 sonrası popüler Hollywood sinemasında dini tema ve örüntüler

Abstract

Bu çalışma görsel çağ diye de adlandırılan günümüz postmodern durumunda popüler filmlerin din ile olan etkileşimini sekülerleşme ve kültür teorileri bağlamında incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışma 2000 Sonrası popüler Hollywood filmlerinde bulunan dini, paranormal, büyülü ve mitolojik temaları belirlemeye çalışmakta ve bunların hangi din ve mitolojilere referanslarda bulunduklarını araştırmaktadır. Dini hikayeleri konu alan filmler ve dini kurumların sponsorluğunda veya özellikle kurumsal bir dinin öğretileri ışığında üretilen filmler araştırmaya dahil edilmemiştir. Çalışma içerik analizi ile popüler filmlerde dini, mitolojik, paranormal ve kutsal temalar, karakterler, anlatılar ve öğeleri belirlemekte ve bu bulgulardan yola çıkarak bazı ana temalara ulaşmaktadır. Bu ana temalar popüler Hollywood filmlerinin seküler eğlence görünümüne rağmen ne kadar dini temalar ile dolu olduklarını göstermektedir. Bu çalışma sekülerleşme, kültür teorileri ve Postmodernizm bağlamında bu bulguları ele almayı amaçlamaktadır.

This study aims to investigate the interaction between popular films and religion in the contexts of secularization and culture theories in today's postmodern condition, which is also called the visual age. The study tries to identify religious, paranormal, magical and mythological themes in popular Hollywood films and explores which religions and mythologies they refer to. Films that are about religious stories and produced in the sponsorship of religious institutions or specifically produced in the light of institutional religious doctrines are not included in the study. The study explores religious, mythological, paranormal and sacred themes, characters, narratives and elements in popular films using content analysis and reaches some main themes based on these findings. These main themes reveal how popular Hollywood films are full of religious themes despite their secular appearance. This study aims to discuss these findings in the contexts of secularization, culture theories and postmodernism.
