Öğe The Effect of Museum Education Applications on Students In Social Studies Course(T.C. Milli Egitim Bakanligi, 2020) Egüz Ş.The museum is one of the ideal places where students contribute to enrich their learning experiences at school. In this study, it was carried out to determine the effect of museum-based teaching practices in social studies on students. The study was conducted with 5th grade students in two secondary schools in the Battalgazi and Pütürge districts of Malatya in 2018-2019 academic years. Mixed method research model was used in the research. In the first stage, two groups, namely the experimental and control groups, participated in the teaching practices. In the context of teaching practices, the students of the experimental group performed activities entitled “My Work” and “Find in the Museum” which were determined by the researchers who were taken to the Malatya museum. The second stage was designed as a case study and interview method was used. As a result of the research, it has been found out that teaching practices based on museum education within the scope of “Culture and Heritage” unit of the experimental group are effective in enhancing the academic achievement of the students, consolidating the subjects and maintaining learning permanence. © 2020. The objective of the research was to determine the multiple perspectives with which students look at global issues related to the economy and how the proposed activity can influence the development of their skills in using communications technologies. The principal reason for making use of this activity was based on the knowledge of the importance of economic relations in the world and the fact that qualitative discussions with the students showed that this activity was one that the students found most entertaining. It is considered that designing activities for students that are supported by communications technologies may be effective in helping them gain a global perspective. © 2018 by authors. Milli Egitim Bakanligi, 2023) Egüz Ş.; Gökalp L.Environmental pollution is a global problem. This problem is common in both developed and developing countries and attracts people’s attention because of its serious long-term consequences. Environmental pollution has become a focal point in recent years due to its negative effects on the stability of the ecosystem; recycling has become more important than ever before. This research aimed to determine the metaphorical perceptions of secondary school students about the concept of “recycling” and to reveal their awareness of “recycling” through drawings. For this purpose, phenomenology design, one of the qualitative research models, was used in the research. The study group of the research consisted of 116 eighth grade students attending a secondary school in Adıyaman in the 2021-2022 academic year. In the study, density sampling type was used in the context of the heuristic approach. Study data were collected through standardized forms developed by the researchers; the qualitative data sources obtained were analyzed by content analysis method. At the end of the research, it was determined that the students who made up the study group had different metaphorical perceptions from each other. In this context, 9 categories were developed, and the most metaphors were produced in the category of “recycling as a perception of nature” among these categories. When the products left for recycling are taken into consideration, it has been determined that male students use recycling bins more actively than female students. © 2023, Milli Egitim.
