Öğe Bibliometric Trends and Thematic Areas in Research on Cognitive Disengagement Syndrome in Children: A Comprehensive Review(Springer, 2024) Kacmaz, Cihangir; Celik, Osman Tayyar; Saglam, Mehmet; Kay, Mehmet Akif; Inci, RamazanThis study aims to explore trends and principal research areas in the literature on Cognitive Disengagement Syndrome (CDS) in children aged 0-17 from a macro perspective. A total of 236 studies, selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria from the Web of Science and Scopus databases, formed the data source for this research. We conducted a bibliometric analysis to examine the growth of CDS literature and to identify the most productive countries, relevant journals and publications, and trending topics. Additionally, through content analysis, we identified general research themes, sample trends, and methodologies used in these studies. Our findings reveal that the relatively new field of CDS research is expanding. Our thematic analysis shows that the literature on CDS covers a broad spectrum of research topics, addressing various facets of the syndrome and identifying current research themes. The existing studies highlight the complex nature of CDS and its diverse cognitive, psychological, and neurological impacts. Our results also suggest that while research is more prevalent in certain age groups, there is a need to encompass a wider demographic range, considering CDS's potential impact across different life stages. This bibliometric analysis offers a comprehensive review of the current knowledge in the CDS field, providing a valuable resource for researchers. Our analyses and findings can guide future research in this area and suggest approaches for broader study frameworks. It is anticipated that ongoing and future research in the CDS field will incorporate these insights to more effectively address the syndrome's varied aspects and consequences.Öğe Examination of mother's opinions on developmental differences of children with autism in early period(Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2022) Boga, Ebru; Arslan, Rukiye; Tarkocin, Suna; Temiz, Ahmet; Saglam, MehmetEarly diagnosis is extremely important for children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), as other children having developmental disabilities. In early diagnosis, which is one of the most important elements of the treatment process, parents have a special place with different factors. Considering the importance of parents in early diagnosis, the aim of the study is to examine the opinions of the mother on early developmental differences in children with autism. The research is a case study designed in a qualitative research model. Accordingly, an interview form was developed by the researchers and data were collected in the scanning model in the first step of the study. In the second step of the study, data were obtained by using the semi-structured interview method, which is one of the qualitative research methods. In the study group of the research, 110 mothers were interviewed, whom were selected via purposeful sampling, and 87 mothers, who gave full answers to the questions, were included in the study. The data obtained were subjected to descriptive and thematic analysis. As a result of the study, it was found that children diagnosed with autism and children with development showed similar developmental characteristics during pregnancy and after birth. It was observed that mothers with a child diagnosed with autism have the awareness on the suspicion of autism in their children when they are between 18 and 24 months and 31 and 36 months, and they experienced problems in breast-feeding and falling asleep.Öğe An examination of the research studies on augmented reality use in preschool education: a bibliometric mapping analysis(Routledge Journals, Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2023) Kayaduman, Halil; Saglam, MehmetThis study explores the research trends regarding augmented reality (AR) use in preschool education through a bibliometric mapping analysis. The researchers included 85 publications from Web of Science databases for the analysis. VOSViewer program was utilized to conduct the keyword and term analyses. The keyword analysis' results indicated that the publications mainly focus on AR use in preschool education with a limited concentration on motivation, knowledge, and English language learning. The term analysis results revealed four main themes which are the possible use of AR applications on children, the design process of AR, the children's AR experiences, and the used technology. Based on the results, the implications for preschool education and recommendations for the use of AR applications are discussed.Öğe Focal points for digital technology integration in early childhood education: implications from practitioners' perspectives(Routledge Journals, Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2023) Celik, Osman T.; Candemir, Burcu; Saglam, Mehmet; Tunc, Yunus; Acar, Davut; Kahraman, UmitThis study explored the integration of digital technology in early childhood education from the perspectives of 11 preschool teachers using qualitative methods. Through content analysis, four key themes were identified: objectives, multidimensional effects in education, obstacles, and needs/expectations. Teachers employ digital tools to adapt to changes and enhance learning, despite concerns about potential harm. Barriers include administrative support, teacher beliefs, and competencies, as well as educational policies and parent-teacher cooperation. The study recommends the need for in-service and pre-service training for teachers and comprehensive policy development for effective technology integration.Öğe Investigating the Effects of Sensory Development Support Program Prepared for Mothers on Sensory and Social Development of Children with Autism(Lahore Medical Research Center Llp, 2021) Arslan, Rukiye; Saglam, MehmetBackground: Autistic children are the children experiencing sensory problems most. So, the fact that the autistic children should be supported in respect to sensory aspects, and can explore and perceive their environment accurately, and can establish social interactions with other people nearby is of great importance. Aim: This study was conducted in order to investigate the effects of the sensory development support programme prepared for mothers on sensory and social development of children with autism. Methods: The study was carried out between the dates of February 2020 and June 2021 as pre-test, post-test and retention test with control groups test pattern in primary schools and Private Training and Rehabilitation Centres, which have autism classes for children diagnosed as autistic and which are situated in Batman Province. The study was completed with 26 mothers (11 test, 15 control) who have children with autism and aged 7-10. The data were collected using Personal Information Form, Sensory Assessment Form for Children with Autism and Autism Social Skill Profile-Turkish Form. Data were analysed using SPSS version 22. Results: When the changes in average scores of sensory scores of autistic children in test group (Test(post-test-pre-test) =-21,81Öğe Meta-thematic analysis of quality in early childhood education and care(Springernature, 2023) Saglam, Mehmet; Celik, Osman Tayyar; Tunc, Yunus; Kahraman, Umit; Acar, Davut; Candemir, BurcuQuality in early childhood education and care (ECEC) has drawn the attention of researchers and practitioners due to its correlation with positive individual, societal, and economic results. In ECEC, however, there is no consensus on quality metrics. This meta-thematic study seeks to provide a framework for quality indicators in ECEC and to identify the contextual factors that influence the perception of quality. The study's data source comprises 14 published papers conducted in 11 countries using qualitative or mixed methods on quality in ECEC. As a consequence of the analysis, 16 early childhood education and care quality indicators were identified. As a result of the second-level studies, the underlying or associated syntheses in the ECEC quality indicators were uncovered. These include child-centeredness, teacher qualifications, culture and atmosphere of the ECEC center, holistic development, and leadership. In addition, it was concluded that cultural values and beliefs, the centralization degree of the education system, and the expectations of stakeholders are contextual elements that influence the quality and perceptions of quality in ECEC.Öğe Modification of Maxillary Sinus Floor With Orthodontic Treatment and Implant Therapy: A Case Letter(Allen Press Inc, 2014) Saglam, Mehmet; Akman, Serhan; Malkoc, Siddik; Hakki, Sema S.[Abstract Not Available]
