Öğe The effect of mindfulness on medication adherence in individuals diagnosed with Schizophrenia: A cross-sectional study(Wiley, 2022) Yildirim Usenmez, Tulay; Gultekin, Abdurrezzak; Erkan, Fatma Melike; Bayar, Behiye Dilmen; Can, Sevinc Yasar; Sanli, Mehmet EminObjective The aim of this study is to determine the effect of mindfulness on medication adherence in individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia. Materials and Methods This cross-sectional study was conducted with 147 individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia. The data were collected using the Descriptive Characteristics Form, Morisky Medication Adherence Scale, and Mindful Attention Awareness Scale. Results A strong positive correlation was determined between the mindfulness level and medication adherence of the individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia. Furthermore, mindfulness of the individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia was statistically significant in explaining medication adherence (p < 0.05) and mindfulness predicted medication adherence by 64%. Conclusion It was observed that the individuals' mindfulness level was low and half of the participants had low medication adherence. Moreover, as their mindfulness level increased, so did their medication adherence.Öğe The Effects of Positive Psychotherapy-Based Training on Levels of Anxiety Depression and Coping with Stress among Parents of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder(Routledge Journals, Taylor & Francis Ltd, 2024) Sanli, Mehmet Emin; Erci, BehiceThe aim of this study is to investigate how positive psychotherapy (PPT)-based training affects levels of anxiety, depression, and coping with stress among parents having children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The study was completed with 108 participants (treatment group = 50, control group = 58). The findings of the study showed that parents in both groups had lower levels of coping with stress and higher levels of anxiety and depression in the pretest. This training can effectively improve these parents' coping skills for stress and lower their anxiety and depression levels.
