ÜNİVERSİTE ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN FİNANSAL OKURYAZARLIK DÜZEYLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ: İNÖNÜ ÜNİVERSİTESİ ÖRNEĞİ

Özet
Öz: Bu çalışmanın amacı üniversite öğrencilerinin finansal bilgi, tutum ve okuryazarlık düzeyinin belirlenmesi ve artırılması için yapılması gerekenlerin araştırılmasıdır. Bu amaçla İnönü Üniversitesi öğrencilerine bir anket uygulaması yapılmış ve öğrencilerin finansal okuryazarlık düzeyleri farklı demografik özellikleri ile karşılaştırmalı olarak incelenmiştir. Ayrıca, frekans yüzde dağılımı ve korelasyon analizi yapılmıştır. Ankette üniversitede okuyan 502 öğrenciden oluian bir örneklem kullanılmış; farklı fakültelerde okuyan öğrenciler ile erkek-bayan öğrencilerin finansal okuryazarlık düzeyi karşılaştırmaları yapılmış ve öğrenci ailelerinin eğitim durumlarının öğrencilerin finansal okuryazarlıklarına etkisi araştırılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; İnönü Üniversitesi öğrencilerinin finansal okuryazarlık seviyesi beş tam puan üzerinden 3,028 puandır. Erkek öğrencilerin finansal okuryazarlık düzeyinin bayan öğrencilere göre daha yüksek olduğu, öğrencilerin finansal okuryazarlıkla ilgili temel ekonomi ve finans bilgisine sahibi oldukları, en az bilgiye sahip oldukları alanın ise yatırım konusu olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin güncel ekonomi haberlerini takip etme konusundaki puan ortalamalarının düşük seviyelerde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Korelasyon analizi sonucunda finansal okuryazarlık düzeyini en fazla etkileyen faktör, yatırım bilgi düzeyi faktörü olduğu bulunmuştur.
Öz: The aim of this study is to investigate what to do for determining and increasing the level of financial information, attitudes and literacy of university students. For this purpose, a questionnaire was applied to the students of Inonu University and their financial literacy levels were examined comparatively with their different demographic characteristics. Also, frequency percentage distribution and correlation analysis were performed. In the survey a sample of 502 students studying at the university was used; the financial literacy level of students in different faculties and male and female students were compared and the effect of education level of students' families on financial literacy of students was investigated. According to the research results; the financial literacy level of Inonu University students is 3,028 points over the five full points. It is determined that the level of financial literacy of male students is higher than the female students, the students have the basic knowledge of finance and economy about financial literacy, and the field where they have the least knowledge is the subject of investment. In addition, it is determined that the average score of the students in following the current economic news is in low levels. As a result of the correlation analysis, it is found that the factor that most affect the financial literacy level is the investment information factor.
