Özet
Ülkemizde ders kitapları Milli Eğitim Bakanlığı tarafından öğrencilere koşulsuz şartsız her sene kendi sınıf düzeylerine göre dağıtılmaktadır. Her kitap kendi müfredatına uygun bir şekilde eğitim ilkeleri ve MEB tarafından yayınlanıp bildirilen değerleri kapsayarak hazırlanmaktadır. Öğrencilere her sene dağıtılan kitaplar onları MEB tarafından hazırlanan LGS, TYT, AYT ve YDT gibi sınavlara hazırlamaktadır. Özellikle 8. sınıf öğrencileri, liseye hazırlandıkları süreç sonunda LGS (Liselere Giriş Sistemi) sınavına girmektedirler. Öğrenciler bu sınavda 5 ayrı dersten sorumludurlar. Bu dersler Türkçe, Matematik, İnkılap, Fen Bilgisi, İngilizce ve Din Bilgisi dersleridir. Öğrencilerin sınava hazırlandıkları İngilizce dersi için MEB tarafından basılan ve 8. Sınıflarda okutulan iki ayrı kitap bulunmaktadır. Bu kitaplardan birisi Mastermind İngilizce Kitabı diğeri ise Upswing İngilizce Kitabı olarak eğitim öğretimde kullanılmaktadır. Aynı sınıf seviyesinde, aynı sınava hazırlanan öğrenciler için farklı iki kitap olması kitapların içeriğine dair merak uyandırmaktadır. Bu iki kitap arasındaki benzerlikler ve farklılıkların neler olduğu ise tezin araştırma konusu olarak belirlenmiştir. Kitaplarda yer alan becerilerin sayıca ne kadar olduğu, MEB tarafından yayımlanan değerlere kitaplarda ne ölçüde yer verildiği ve Türk kültürel ögelerin kitaplarda ne sıklıkla yer aldığı bu çalışmada incelenmiştir. Araştırmada nitel araştırma yönteminden durum çalışması deseni kullanılmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında doküman analizi, verilerin analizindeyse betimsel analiz kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler doğrultusunda kitapların İngilizce öğretiminde kullanılan 4 beceride bazı ünitelerde birbirinden oldukça farklı, MEB tarafından belirlenen değerleri içermede ve Kültürel ögelere yer verme sıklığında ise yine bazı ünitelerde farklılıklar içerdiği belirlenmiştir. In our country, the Ministry of Education according to their grade distributes textbooks unconditionally to students every year. Each book is prepared in accordance with its own curriculum, covering the principles of education and the values published and declared by the Ministry of National Education. The books distributed to students every year prepare them for the exams like LGS, TYT, AYT and YDT prepared by the Ministry of National Education. Especially in the process of 8th grade students preparing for high school, take exams in five different subjects. These courses are Turkish, Mathematics, Turkish Revolution, Science, English and Religious Studies. There are two separate books published by the Ministry of National Education for the English course for which students prepare for the exam. One of these books, Mastermind, and the other, Upswing, are used for education in schools. In this case, the fact that there are two separate books raises curiosity about the content of the books. How there are similarities and differences between these two books is the research topic of this thesis. In the research on the content of the books study that the frequency of the teaching skills, the extent to which the values published by the Ministry of National Education are included and what Turkish cultural elements they contain. The case study design from the qualitative research method was used. Document analysis was used to collect data, and descriptive analysis was used to analyse the data. In line with the data obtained, it was determined that the books contained differences in the 4 skills used in English language teaching, in the inclusion of the values determined by the Ministry of National Education and in the frequency of including cultural elements.
