Özet
ÖZET Bu çalışma, mayıs 1996 - temmuz 1997 tarihleri arasında Malatya (Ayvalı ve Aşağıulupınar)'nın bazı yörelerinden toplanan örneklerle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Bu araştırmada Aşağıulupınar bölgesinden 4adet erkek 1 dişi, Ayvalı bölgesinden 26 adet erkek 19 dişi olmak üzere toplam 50 adet Spermophilus örneği ile çalışılmıştır. Elde edilen örneklerden "Colchicinehypotonic citrate" tekniği ile örneklerin kemik iliği preparatları yapılmış ve her bir örnek için en az 25 metafaz plağı sayımı yapılarak karyotipleri tespit edilmiştir. Analizler sonucunda: 2n=42, NF=68, NFa=64, olarak bulunmuştur. Bu kromozomlardan 1 çifti metasentrik, 7 çifti submetasentrik, 4 çifti subtelosentrik ve 8 çifti akrosentriktir. X kromozomu metasentrik ve Y kromozomu iki kollu (akrosentrik) olarak bulunmuştur. Yapılan çalışma sonunda, populasyonlar arasında kromozom sayılan ve morfolojileri bakımından hiçbir fark gözlenememiştir. Elde edilen veriler, daha önce yapılmış olan diğer çalışmalarla karşılaştırılarak evolüsyonları, sitogenetik ve taksonomik durumları tartışılmıştır.
SUMMARY In this study, a cytogenetic investigation was carried out on Ground Squirrel collected from two different regions of Malatya, a city located in East Türkiye. The samples were taken alive from the north and the South of Tohma Stream. In the study 50 squirrel speciemens were used, and the preparets from their bone marrow were prepared using "Colchicinehypotonic citrate" technique. For each individual sample at least 25 metaphase plaques were counted and their karyotypes were determined. Analysis of all samples revealed a karyotypic set of 2n=42, NF=68, and NFa=64. Of those chromosome set, one pair was metacentric, 7 pairs submetacentric, 4 pairs subtelosentric and 8 pairs were acrocentric. X chromosome was determined as metacentric and Y chromosome as acrosentric. It was shown that there was no difference in respect to the number of chromosomes and their morphologia between two populations. The results were compared with previous studies and they were discussed based on evolutionary cytogenetic and taxonomic status of those animals.
