Özet
Günümüz dünyasında işsizlik en önemli ekonomik sorunların başında gelmektedir. Çoğu ekonomide bu
sorunun çözümü için büyük çaba harcanmaktadır. Turizm sektörünün de emek-yoğun özelliği, istihdamı
arttırarak işsizliğin önlenmesinde kurtarıcı rol oynamaktadır. Bu çalışmada da Türkiye’de turizm sektörünün
istihdama sağladığı katkılar araştırılmıştır. Çalışmada elde edilen sonuçlara göre son 10 yılda Türkiye
ekonomisinde toplam istihdama en önemli katkıyı istihdam rakamı 11 milyondan 16 milyon seviyelerine ulaşan
hizmetler sektörü sağlamıştır. Hizmetler sektörü içerisinde yer alan turizm sektöründe aynı dönemde 2 milyon
210 bin kişi istihdam edilmiştir. Son 10 yılda turizm sektörünün toplam istihdam içerisinde aldığı pay ise
genelde %8 civarında gerçekleşmiştir. Yine tahminlere göre 2025 yılında turizm sektöründeki toplam istihdam
sayısı 2 milyon 817 bin kişiye ulaşacaktır.
Unemployment is one of the most important economic problems in today's world. To solution of this problem, large effort is expended in most economies. The labor-intensive character of the tourism sector plays a savior role for preventioning of unemployment by increasing employment. In this paper, employment contributions of tourism sector in Turkey are investigated. As a result of study in Turkish economy services sector that employment digits reached to 16 million from 11 million has provided the major contribution to total employment. In the same period 2 million 210 thousand people were also employed in the tourism sector that located in the services sector. The share of total employment of tourism sector generally was approximately 8% last 10 years. Still according to estimates total employment number in the tourism sector will reach 2 million 817 thousand people in 2025.
