Özet

Sustainable management of leakages contributes significantly to ensuring water, energy, network operation and financial efficiency. The main purpose of this study is to prioritize leakage management components (LMCs) using a multi-criteria decision-making method for sustainable leakage management (LM). A total of 75 LMCs under five main headings are determined. A total of 13 decision-making criteria are defined to evaluate the components. The weights of criteria were calculated with the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and analytical network process (ANP) methods. The highest weights were obtained for risk reduction (0.44) and water supply and distribution security (0.12) criteria with the AHP. The highest weights were obtained for investment cost (0.097) operating cost (0.092) with ANP. Then, the LMCS were evaluated against the decision-making criteria by experts. The LMCs were prioritized with The Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) based on the weights determined by AHP and ANP. The first 20 components prioritized generally cover data measurement and monitoring, basic leak detection, reduction and prevention methods. The basic methods recommended for LM (active leakage control, fault management, team management, pressure management) are prioritized with the TOPSIS. The components prioritized by the TOPSIS are suitable for the natural structure of the problem and are applicable. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Shiraz University 2024.
