Özet

Late Cretaceous Inekpi{dotless}nari{dotless} Formation and Middle Eocene Suludere Formations occur in the southern part of the Malatya Basin. The sediments of the formations contain a rich association of planktic and benthic foraminifera. Fifty four samples were examined from the measured sections, and the foraminifera species were determined. In this study, the sea level oscillations and values of paleosalinity and palaeotemperature were calculated based on ?18O %o and ?13C %o isotope values obtained from the analysis of tests on the Heterohelix striata, Racemiguembelina fructicosa, Contusotruncana contusa, Bolivina incrassata, Subbotina eocaena, Globigerina venezuelena and Turborotalia cerroazulensis frontosa. The results of this research indicate that the sea level, water temperature, and salinity were rising and falling episodically during the Late Cretaceous and the Middle Eocene. While the sea level and water temperature were increasing, the paleosalinity values were decreasing. © SGEM2012 All Rights Reserved by the International Multidisciplinary Scientific GeoConference SGEM Published by STEF92 Technology Ltd.
