| dc.description.abstract | Öz: Bu çalışma İngilizce öğretmenlerinin hizmet içi eğitim faaliyetlerine ilişkin görüşlerini belirlemeye yönelik tanımlayıcı nitelikte bir çalışmadır. Araştırma Genel Tarama Modeli kapsamında ilişkisel tarama modeline dayalıdır. Araştırma verilerine ulaşmak için Nevşehir ilinde görev yapan 140 İngilizce öğretmenine araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan bir anket uygulanmıştır. Anket formunun hazırlanmasında ilgili literatür taranmış, benzer araştırmalarda kullanılan geçerlik ve güvenilirlikleri test edilmiş veri toplama araçlarından yararlanılmış, öğretmen ve uzman görüşleri de dikkate alınmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğretmenlerin hizmet içi eğitim faaliyetlerine ilişkin görüşlerinin genel olarak “Orta Düzeyde Katılıyorum” seçeneğinde birleştiği görülmüştür. Öğretmenlerin çoğunluğu bilimsel, teknolojik ve toplumsal alandaki gelişmelerin hizmet içi eğitimi zorunlu kıldığını, hizmet içi eğitim faaliyetlerinin devam etmesini istediklerini ancak hizmet içi eğitim faaliyetlerinin yapılış zamanının uygun olmadığını belirtmişlerdir. Öğretmenlerin hizmet içi eğitim faaliyetlerinin çeşitli boyutları ile ilgili görüşleri arasında cinsiyet, yaş, hizmet yılı değişkenleri açısından farklılık görülmezken, mezuniyet alanı değişkeni açısından istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bir farklılık görülmüştür. “Katılınan Hizmet İçi Eğitim Faaliyetlerinin Organizasyonu ile İlgili Görüşler” boyutuyla ilgili olarak Eğitim Fakültesi mezunu olan öğretmenlerin görüşlerinin Fen Edebiyat Fakültesi mezunu olan öğretmenlere oranla daha olumlu olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Başlık (İngilizce): The opinions of english teachers about in-service training activities Öz (İngilizce): This paper was carried out as a descriptive study in order to analyze the opinions of English teachers about in-service teacher training activities. The study relies on Relational Scanning Model within the context of General Scanning Model. A questionnaire form that was prepared by the researchers themselves was applied to 140 English teachers appointed in Nevşehir in order to obtain the research data. While preparing the questionnaire, the related literature was reviewed and it was benefited from some other questionnaire forms of which reliability and validity analyses were performed and used in similar studies. Also some suggestions of teachers and experts were taken into consideration. According to the results of the analysis, it was determined that the teachers generally had chosen “moderately agree” choice for the questions about in-service teacher training activities. Most of the teachers think that inservice teacher training is essential because of scientific, technologic and social improvements; they require continuous in-service teacher training activities and state that these activities are not done in the right time of the year. No significant differences were found between the opinions of teachers about different dimensions of in-service teacher training activities in terms of gender, age and seniority variables. However, a significant difference was seen among the opinions of teachers in terms of faculties they graduated from.
