Özet

In this study, gasification potential of apricot pit shells is investigated by a pilot scale downdraft gasifier. Apricot shells could be gasified in a downdraft gasifier to produce clean gas with a calorific value of around 5.82 MJ/Nm3 and with a combustible fraction of 39% v/v. Low moisture (11.74%) and ash content (0.78%) are the main advantages of apricot pit shells for gasification. The gas is suitable for power generation in internal combustion engines. It is suggested that gasification of shell waste products is a clean energy alternative to fossil fuels and the product gas can be used efficiently.
