Aim: This study was conducted to determine the effect of aromatherapy with thyme oil on disease symptoms, vital signs and hemodynamic parameters in coronavirus patients. Material and Method: The research pretest – posttest in the experimental design was carried out in a randomized controlled manner. Between 31 January 2022 and 31 July 2022, 140 patients hospitalized in the Covid-19 ward of Batman Training and Research Hospital ( experimental group= 70, control group=70 ) were included in the sample. In the collection of the data 'Demographic Characteristics Form', 'Covid-19 Symptom Forme' 'Hemodynamic Parameters and vital signs follow up Form'. From the first measurements the Patients in the experimental group were given thyme oil 3 times a day for 5 days. At the end of day 5, sypmtoms and hemodynamic parameters were measured as the final test. Vital signs were measuerd and recorded repeatedly 3 times a day for 5 days. The control group was followed up simultaneously with the experimental group, there is no intervention was performed. Results: It was determined that thyme oil was effective on the symptoms of shortness of breath, dizzines, secretion, diarrhea, weakness, loss of appetite, cough, headache and muscle joint pain (p<0.05) which were found to be statistically significant (p>0.05) despite improvment in the symptoms of neusea-vomiting, runny nose and loss of taste and smell. From the vital signs, it was determined that it significantly reduced body temperature, pulse rate and respiratory rate (p<0.05) , increased sPO2 (p<0.05), and did not statistically affect systolic and diastolic blood pressure (p>0.05). It was determined that it had a significantly reduced CO2 (p<0.05) and significantly increased the number of O2 (p<0.05). Conclusion: Aromatherapy with oregano oil in Coronavirus Patients was found to be effetive in reducing symptoms, regulating vital signs and hemodynamatic parameters. Accordingly, it may be recommended to use oregano oil as a nonpharmacological treatment method in Covid-19 patients.
