Aim: The research was conducted to determine the relationship between the personality characteristics of postpartum women and the perception of traumatic birth and postpartum fatigue. Material and Method: The descriptive and correlational study was conducted in the postpartum service of Şanlıurfa Birecik State Hospital. Sample size when power analysis is done; bidirectional significance level was calculated as at least 362 puerperal women, with 5% error level, 97% confidence interval, and 80% representativeness. The research was done with 400 puerperant women. Personal information form, TBPS, MAF and TIPI were used to collect data. Number, percentage, mean, standard deviation, independent groups t test, Kruskal-Wallis analysis, one-way analysis of variance and Pearson correlation analysis were used in the analysis of the data. Results: 35.5% of the puerperal women experienced very low, 17.5% low, 19.0% moderate, 15.3% high, 12.8% very high traumatic birth perceptions, the total mean score of TBPS was 51.06± 38.90, MAF total it was determined that the mean score was 24.56±8.18, and the total mean score of TIPI was 32.29±3.84. There was a statistically significant negative relationship between the extraversion sub-dimension of the postpartum mothers and their mean TBPS scores, and a positive statistically significant relationship between the emotional stability, responsibility and agreeableness sub-dimension and the traumatic birth perception scale mean scores; It was determined that there was a positive, statistically significant relationship between the extraversion, emotional stability, responsibility and agreeableness subscales and the MAF score averages. Conclusion: As the personality trait of extraversion increases, the perception of traumatic birth decreases and fatigue increases. As emotional stability, responsibility and agreeableness increase, the perception of traumatic birth and fatigue increase. Some sociodemographic and obstetric characteristics affect the perception of traumatic birth and fatigue. Keywords: Postpartum Tiredness, Personality Characteristics, Traumatic Birth Perception
