| dc.description.abstract | Amaç: Araştırma partneri olan ve olmayan üniversite öğrencilerinin eş seçimi tercihlerinin karşılaştırılması amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Materyal Metot: Araştırma, tanımlayıcı ve ilişki arayıcı olarak yapılmıştır. Araştırma bir devlet Üniversitesi’nin Fakülte ve Yüksekokullarında, 2009-2010 eğitim öğretim yılı bahar döneminde öğrenimlerini sürdüren 1446 öğrenci ile yürütülmüştür. Veriler literatürden yararlanılarak geliştirilen katılımcı bilgi formu kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde yüzde ve frekans dağılımları alınmış, verilere Ki-Kare testi uygulanmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmamızda öğrencilerin %48.5’inin partnerinin olduğu ve %51,9’ unun kız, %48.1’ inin erkek olduğu saptanmıştır. Araştırmada partneri olan üniversite öğrencilerinin annelerinin eğitim düzeyi olmayanlara göre daha yüksek idi (p<0.05). Partneri olan öğrencilerin, eş seçiminde kişiliğin iyi olmasını daha fazla tercih ederken, partneri olmayan öğrencilerin evleneceği kişinin dindar olmasını daha fazla tercih etmektedir (p<0.001). Ayrıca partneri olmayan öğrencilerin, partneri olan öğrencilere göre eş seçimini daha çok mantığı ile yapacağı, siyasi görüş farklılığını daha fazla sorun olarak gördüğü ve ailelerin uyumsuzluğunu daha fazla “sorun olur” şeklinde tanımladıkları saptanmıştır (p<0.05). Sonuç: Üniversite öğrencilerinin eş seçiminde partner varlığının önemli bir değişken olup partneri olan üniversite öğrencilerinin eş tercihinde kişiliğe daha fazla önem vermektedirler. Partneri olmayan öğrencilerin ise daha geleneksel bir yapı göstererek eş seçiminde kriterlerinin daha fazla olduğu bu doğrultuda evlenme kararını daha çok mantıklarını kullanarak vermek istedikleri görülmektedir. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | Objective: This study aims to compare the preferences of university students who either have or do not have a partner while they are deciding who will be their spouse. Material and Method: This study is descriptive and correlational. The study was conducted with the cooperation of 1446 students enrolled in the colleges and faculties of a state university in the Spring 2009-2010 semester. The data were collected using a questionnaire that was created after a review of the relevant literature. The data were assessed using frequencies and percentages along with the chi-square test. Findings: The study determined that 48.5% of the participant students had a partner. Of their partners, 51.9% were females, and 48.1% were males. The educational status of the mothers of the students with a partner was higher than that of those without a partner (p<0.05). Students with partners wanted their future spouses to have a good personality, while those without partners preferred to marry a religious and faithful person (p<0.001). Students without a partner chose to make their decisions about their spouses based on reason. They saw political differences as a bigger problem and worried more about the potential incompatibility of their in-laws than the other group of students (p<0.05). Conclusion: Having or not having a partner is an important variable in university students’ choices about their future spouses. The primary consideration of the students who have a boyfriend or girlfriend is the character of their spouse. Students who do not have a partner think more conventionally and have a larger number of criteria for their marital choices, leading them to prefer to use logic to make these decisions. | en_US |
