Özet
The notion of the memristor was first introduced by Leon O. Chua in 1971. Taking into account the relationships between current, voltage, electric charge and flux magnitudes, Chua argued that there should be a fourth basic passive element in addition to resistance, capacitor and inductor. Although Chua mathematically modeled a memristor, he could not physically obtain it. Later, in 2008, the memristor was physically obtained as a result of long efforts in the Hewlett-Packard Laboratories. But nowadays it is not common to use it as an electronic element, especially because of its high cost. Instead, there are different emulator circuits in the literature that can serve as memristors. In this study, two different memristor emulators in the literature were considered. The effects of each memristor emulator on the electronic circuit were compared using these emulators in a low pass filter circuit instead of resistance. The efficiency of the used memristor emulators was investigated in the low pass filter circuit. © 2019 IEEE.
