Öz
Çocukluk dönemi bireyin çevresini araştırdığı, iletişim kurmaya istekli olduğu ve
toplumun yapısına uygun davranışları kazandığı yıllardır. Okul öncesi eğitim,
çocukların problem çözme becerisini geliştirici, farklı durumlara kolay uyum
sağlayabilen, araştırmacı yönü ve güven duygusu gelişmiş, kendini ifade edebilen,
doğru kararlar alabilen girişimci bireyler olarak yetiştirilebilmeleri açısından
önemlidir. Okul öncesi dönemde çocuk karşılaştığı problemleri çözmek için akıl
yürütme, çıkarım yapma, sorgulama gibi birçok bilgi ve beceri kazanmaktadır. Bu
beceriler çocuğun karşılaştığı güçlükler üzerinde çözüm yollarını aramasını, bilgi ve
becerilerini kullanmasını dolayısıyla kendi başına karar vermesini sağlamaktadır.
Toplumların hızlı değişen yapısı bireylerin hızlı düşünen, problem çözebilen ve doğru
kararlar verebilen, kararlarının sorumluluğunu alabilen bireyler yetiştirmeyi gerekli
kılmaktadır. Bu nedenle çalışmada, okul öncesi eğitime devam eden beş-altı
yaşındaki çocukların karar verme becerilerinin “Karar Verme Becerileri Eğitimi
Programı” ile desteklenmesi amacı ile planlanmıştır. Çalışma Öntest-sontest-izleme
testi içeren çalışma yarı deneysel modelde yapılandırılmıştır. Araştırmanın Çalışma
grubuna 20 deney, 20 kontrol grubu olmak üzere toplam 40 çocuk alınmıştır. Deney
grubundaki çocuklar on hafta süresince haftada iki oturum olmak üzere “Karar Verme
Becerileri Eğitim Programı ile desteklenmiştir. Veriler araştırmacı tarafından
geliştirilen "Karar Verme Becerileri Değerlendirme Aracı-Çocuk Formu", "Karar Verme
Becerileri Değerlendirme Aracı-Ebeveyn Formu" ve "Kişisel Bilgi Formu" ile veriler
toplanmıştır. Çalışmanın sonucunda deney ve kontrol grubundaki çocukların karar
verme becerileri puanları arasında anlamlı fark olduğu (p<,001) belirlenmiştir. Deney
grubundaki çocuklara dört hafta sonra kalıcılık testi uygulanmış, son test ile kalıcılık
testi puan ortalamaları arasında farkın anlamlı olmadığı (p>,05) ve eğitim
programının etkisinin devam ettiği görülmüştür. Bu bulgulara dayalı olarak, okul
öncesi dönem çocuklarının karar verme becerilerini geliştirmek amacıyla
araştırmacılara, eğitimcilere ve ebeveynlere yönelik öneriler sunulmuştur.

Abstract: Childhood is the period when the individual searches his environment, is eager to communicate, and gains behaviors suitable for the structure of the society. The education provided in this period allows the child to form right habits, gain freedom and courage to apply what he learns, and acquire the behaviors he needs. Pre-school education is important for children to have developed problem-solving skills and a developed feeling of confidence, to be capable of easily adapting to different situations, expressing themselves, and making right decisions, and to be highly inquisitive and enterprising. During the pre-school period, the child acquires a lot of knowledge and skills such as reasoning, inference, and questioning in order to solve the problems they encounter. These skills enable the child to seek solutions against the difficulties he encounters, use his knowledge and skills, and therefore make his own decisions. The rapidly changing nature of societies makes it necessary for individuals to think quickly, problem solving and make right decisions, and to raise individuals who can take responsibility for their decisions. For this reason, in this study it is planned that the decision-making skills of the children aged between 5 and 6 who are continuing preschool education should be supported with the "Decision Making Skills Training Program". The study involving pre-test and post-test was constructed in a semi-experimental model. A total of 40 children were included in the study group, 20 of which were experimental and 20 were control groups. The children in the experimental group were supported by the "Decision Making Skills Training Program" with two sessions per week for ten weeks. The data were collected by the "Decision Making Skills Assessment Tool-Child Form" developed by the researcher, "Decision Making Skills Assessment Tool-Parent Form" and "Personal Information Form". As a result of the study, there was a significant difference (p<,001) between the scores of decision-making ability of the children in the experimental and control groups. The children in the experimental group were tested with the permanency test after four weeks, and it was seen that the difference between the post-test and permanency test point averages was not significant (p>,05) and the effect of the training program continued. Based on these findings, some suggestions are offered to researchers, educators and parents to develop the decision making skills of preschool children.
