Özet
Amaç: Bu araştırma Bitlis Eren Üniversitesi akademik personelinin sağlık okuryazarlığı, yaşam kalitesi ve etkileyen faktörlerin incelenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Materyal ve Metot: Tanımlayıcı tipte kesitsel bir araştırmadır. 2018 yılı verilerine göre evren sayısı Bitlis Eren Üniversitesinde bulunan 436 akademik personel olarak belirlenmiştir. Akademik personelin %79.8'ine (348 kişi) ulaşılmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında anket formu kullanılmıştır. Anket formu araştırmacı tarafından literatür doğrultusunda hazırlanan 30 tanımlayıcı sorudan, The European Health Literacy Survey (Avrupa Sağlık Okuryazarlığı Anketi) ve Dünya Sağlık Örgütü Yaşam Kalitesi Ölçeği Kısa Formu WHOQOL-BREF-TR Ölçeği' nden oluşmaktadır. Sonuçlar p<0.05 önemlilik düzeyinde değerlendirilmiştir. Bulgular: Araştırma grubunun %33.3'ü (116 kişi) kadın, %66.7'si (232 kişi) erkektir. Akademisyenlerin %40.8'i yetersiz veya sınırlı, %59.2'si yeterli veya mükemmel sağlık okuryazarlığı düzeyine sahiptir. Şişman grubunda olan akademisyenlerin yaşam kalitesi ölçeği genel sağlık durumu boyutunun, fiziksel sağlık, psikolojik ve sosyal ilişkiler alt boyutlarının ortalama ± ss değeri hafif kilolulardan ve normallerden istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ölçüde düşük bulunmuştur. Hiç sigara içmeyen akademisyenlerin genel sağlık durumu boyut ortalama ± ss değeri ara sıra ve düzenli içenlerden istatistiksel olarak anlamlı ölçüde yüksek bulunmuştur. Sonuç: Toplumun gelişmişliğini gösteren ve sağlayan kurumlar yükseköğretim kurumlarıdır ve bu kurumların en temel unsurlarından olan akademisyenlerin, sağlık okuryazarlık düzeylerinin tespiti çalışmalarının artırılması gerekmektedir. Türkiye geneline ilişkin daha zengin bulgular için daha farklı gruplarda tekrarlanmalıdır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Akademisyen, yaşam kalitesi, sağlık okuryazarlığı, WHOQOL-BREF.

The questionnaire form consists of 30 descriptive questions prepared by the researcher in line with the literature, The European Health Literacy Survey and the World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale Short Form WHOQOL-BREF-TR Scale. The results were evaluated at the p<0.05 significance level. Results: 33.3% (116 people) of the research group were female and 66.7% (232 people) were male. 40.8% of the academicians have insufficient or limited level of health literacy, and 59.2% of them have sufficient or excellent level of health literacy. The mean ± sd value of the general health status dimension, physical health, psychological and social relations sub-dimensions of the academics in the obese group were found to be statistically significantly lower than those of the overweight and normal ones. The general health status dimension mean ± sd value of the academicians who never smoked was found to be statistically significantly higher than those of occasional and regular smokers. Conclusion: Institutions that show and ensure the development of the society are higher education institutions, and it is necessary to increase the studies to determine the health literacy levels of academicians, who are the most basic elements of these institutions. It should be repeated in different groups for richer findings on Turkey in general. Key Words: Academician, qality of life, health literacy, WHOQOL-BREF.
