Bir hastanedeki stajyer öğrencilerin tıbbi atık yönetimi konusundaki bilincinin iş sağlığı ve güvenliği bakımından değerlendirilmesi

Özet
Günümüzde sanayileşme sürecinin hızlanmasıyla birlikte çevre sorunları artmakta ve insan ile çevre sağlığını tehdit etmektedir. Kentleşme ve göç gibi faktörler, özellikle büyük şehirlerde hızla artan nüfusun kamu hizmetlerine erişimini zorlaştırmaktadır. Kaynakların bilinçsizce kullanımı ve tüketimin artışı, atık yönetimi sorunlarını daha da karmaşık hale getirmekte ve bu atıklar insan sağlığı ile çevre üzerinde ciddi tehditler oluşturmaktadır. Sağlık kurumlarından kaynaklanan tıbbi atıklar, bu tehdit unsurları arasında özellikle dikkate değer bir yer tutmaktadır. Tıbbi atıklar, çevre ve toplum sağlığı için ciddi riskler oluşturabilir, hatta ölümcül sonuçlar doğurabilir. Bu nedenle, insan sağlığına yönelik riskleri en aza indirmek ve sağlık kurumları için ekonomik kayıpları azaltmak için tıbbi atıkların kaynağında ayrıştırılması ve uygun yöntemlerle bertaraf edilmesi gereken önlemler arasında yer almaktadır. Bu çalışmanın amacı, tıbbi atık yönetimini incelemek ve mevcut durumunu değerlendirmektir. Çalışma, anket çalışmasıdır. Tıbbi atıkların yönetimi ve bertarafı dünya genelinde olduğu gibi Türkiye için de önemli bir sorundur. Tıbbi atıkların üretiminden bertarafına kadar geçen süreç oldukça karmaşıktır ve bu sürecin yönetimi ile ilgili bilgi sahibi olmak büyük önem taşımaktadır. Yapılan çalışmada bir hastanedeki stajyer öğrencilerin tıbbi atık yönetimi konusundaki bilinç düzeyinin ölçülmesi ve sonrasında bu bilinç düzeyinin nasıl arttırılabileceği konusunda fikir üretilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Ayrıca öğrencilerin sağlık kuruluşlarında oluşan tıbbi atıklar konusunda yeterli bilgiye sahip olmadıkları ve tıbbi atıkların yönetimiyle ilgili bilgi düzeylerinin yetersiz olduğu değerlendirilmiştir. In today's rapidly growing industrial development, environmental problems are increasing day by day and threatening human and environmental health. Besides, urbanization and migration increase the importance of environmental problems, and rapid population increase especially in big cities makes public services more difficult to present. The unconscious resource use and consequently the rapid increase in consumption cause the waste problem to be on the agenda and the waste poses a threat to human and environmental health. One of the most important threats to waste is the medical waste which is the output of health institutions. Medical wastes are fatal to environmental and public health. In addition, in order to minimize the risks in terms of human health and also to reduce the economic losses in terms of health institutions, necessary measures should be taken in the field of medical wastes, they should be separated at the source and disposed with appropriate methods. The aim of this study is to examine medical waste management and evaluate its current state. The study employs a survey methodology. Management and disposal of medical wastes are significant issues globally and in Turkey. The process from production to disposal of medical wastes is complex and understanding how to manage this process is crucial. The study aimed to assess the awareness level of medical waste management among intern students in a hospital and subsequently generate ideas on how to enhance this awareness level. In addition, it was evaluated that the students did not have sufficient knowledge about the medical wastes generated in healthcare institutions and their level of knowledge about the management of medical wastes was insufficient.
