The Relationship of Intensive Care Doctors and Nurses in Ethical Issues Unique to Intensive Care and Ethical Sensitivity Aim: This study was conducted to determine the relationship between the ethical sensitivity levels of doctors and nurses working in intensive care units and their approaches to ethical issues specific to intensive care units. Material and method: It is a descriptive study. Doctors and nurses working in intensive care units at İnönü University Turgut Özal Medical Center constitute the universe of the study. All doctors and nurses who met the inclusion criteria, by not using the sample selection method, formed the sample of the study. In total, 144 doctors and 144 nurses were reached. The data of the study were obtained by Personal Information Form, Questionnaire for Approach to Intensive Care-Specific Issues and ADA. Data were given as median (min-max), mean (standard deviation) and number (%). Compliance with the normal distribution was determined by the Shapiro-Wilk test and the Kolmogorov- Smirnov test. Mann-Whitney U test and Kruskal Wallis test were used where appropriate. Conover test was used for Kruskal Wallis test in multiple comparisons. A p value of <0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: The mean score of the moral sensitivity questionnaire was determined as 67.13 ± 22.01. When the scores obtained from the sub-dimensions of the scale are examined, the mean score of the holistic approach sub-dimension is 10.53 ± 4.16, the mean score for the benefit sub-dimension is 9.31 ± 4.29, the mean score for the application sub-dimension is 7.91 ± 4.03, the mean score for the orientation sub- dimension is 6.88 ± 3.66, the mean score for the conflict sub-dimension is 8.89 ± 3.12, autonomy sub-dimension mean score was determined as 14.91 ± 5.22. Conclusion: The moral sensitivity levels of the doctors and nurses participating in our study were found to be high. The moral sensitivity levels of those 36 years of age and older who participated in the study were compared to other age groups, men compared to women, doctors compared to nurses, those working in surgical units compared to those working in internal units, Those who received ethics training compared to those who did not receive ethics training. Ethical and moral sensitivities were found to be higher than Keywords: Ethical Sensitivity, Ethical Approach, Nursing Ethics, Critical Patient Care, Medical Ethics, Intensive Care Medicine, Intensive Care Nursing
