Toplumsal cinsiyet rolleri üzerine karşılaştırmalı bir çalışma: atatürk üniversitesi sosyoloji bölümü örneği

Özet
Toplumsal cinsiyet rolleri toplumsal yapıda birçok farklı kaynaktan beslenmektedir. Aile,
kültür, din ve devlet aracılığı ile cinsiyet rolleri toplum yaşamında kadın ve erkek ilişkisini
belirlemektedir. Cinsiyet rollerinin kadın ve erkek arasında hak ve özgürlükler bağlamında
bir ayrıma yol açtığı bilinmektedir. Bu sebeple cinsiyet rollerinin etkisini ortadan kaldırmak
için birçok girişim gerçekleşmiştir. Bu girişimler eğitim temelinde güçlenmektedir. Bu sebeple
eğitim ve cinsiyet ilişkisi önemli bir tartışma alanını oluşturmaktadır. Eğitimin cinsiyet rolleri
ile ilgili bağı mevcut çalışmanın temel konusunu oluşturmaktadır. Bu çalışmada toplumsal
cinsiyet rollerinin eğitim ile ilişkisi uygulamalı bir çalışma ile değerlendirilmektedir. Çalışma
kapsamında Atatürk Üniversitesi Sosyoloji Bölümünde 2017-2018 eğitim öğretim yılında 1.
ve 4. sınıfta okuyan öğrencilere toplumsal cinsiyet rollerine dair algıları ölçmek için bir ölçek
uygulanmaktadır. Çalışmada katılımcıların ölçek üzerinden cinsiyet, okunan sınıf, yaşanılan
yerin yerleşim türü, anne ve baba eğitim durumlarının tutumları üzerindeki etkisi
ölçülmektedir. Çalışmanın amacı eğitimin ve sosyoloji bölümünün eğitim anlayışının
öğrencilerin cinsiyet rolleri üzerindeki etkisini karşılaştırmalı olarak ele almaktır.

Social gender roles have utilized various sources in the social structure. Gender roles define man-woman relationships in social life via family, culture, religion and the state. It is a wellknown fact that a gender role creates a distinction between men and women in terms of individual rights and freedoms. For this reason many attempts have been done in order to neutralize gender roles. These attempts gain strength at the heart of education. For this reason, education and gender relationship creates a significant discussion field. The relation of education with gender roles constitutes the main subject of this study. In this study, the relation of social gender roles with education is evaluated through an applied study. Within the scope of this study, a scale was applied to first and fourth grade students studying in Atatürk University Sociology Department in 2017-2018 academic year in order to measure their perceptions about social gender roles. In the study, the effects of situations like gender, current class grade, the type of living place and education status of parents on perception of participants are measured via the scale. The purpose of the study is to discuss the effect of education and education percept of sociology department on gender roles of the students comparatively.
