dc.description.abstractObjective: The aim of the study is to determine the depressive symptom frequency among students of Malatya Health High School with the associated factors. Methods: This is a descriptive study. Two hundred and thirty six students (male+female) were participated in the study. The data were obtained by a self-reported questionnaire and the Beck Depression Inventory was used to determine the depression level. Results: Of the participated students, 81.8% were girl and 18.2% were men. The average age of the students was 20.75±2.30 years. Mean depression scores were 9.06±7.54 among midwifery, 11.48±9.47 among nurse, 10.77±10.67 among health officials' students. The mean depression score among women was 11.08±9.22 and 9.79±10.12 among men. Of the students, 25.4% had a depression score over 17. Depressive symptoms were significantly higher among students with negative family attitude and lower parent education (p<0.05). Conclusion: In conclusion, one fourth of the students showed depressive symptoms, and similar to the literature.en_US
